Question about HEWLETT-PACKARD HP Pavilion TX1000 Tablet PC Stylus Pen 439948B21

Notebook runs for 5 minutes then shuts down

I've recently resoldered the GPU due to a blank screen problem and replaced the heatsink/fan assembly. The notebook worked fine for a couple of days and then started to shut itself down after about 5 minutes usually after a popping sound even when using it on a cooling pad. I have no battery so I'm using the AC adapter. I'm reluctant to buy a new battery unless I can resolve this problem. I've also tried using one Ram Card at a time in each slot to see if it is a RAM problem and nothing changed. I also managed to get a quick HD diagnostic run before it shut off and again no fault was detected. Is this still an overheating problem or something else.

My le pan 9.7" tablet keeps powering off when I've only been on it for a couple minutes. It powers off like every 10 minutes. What can I do?

This comes under "try a bunch of things."
1) As it might have a virus, see if you can run an antiviral program from Google Playstore on it.
2) As it might be a low battery trying to preserve the remaining charge, see what the current battery charge is.
3) As it might be a bad battery, you might replace the one in it.
4) As it might be the result of some program you have recently installed, try uninstalling recent additions.
5) Check to see if it is on any power saving modes.
6) If you have a bunch of automatically running applications in the background, they may just be exhausting resources (like power). Some apps can tell you what is draining the system more than the others.

I suspect the battery is failing to hold a charge and after a couple of minutes of activity, the unit simply shutting down to protect itself. I have "heard" that the recharger for this unit is "weak."

IPad turns off after 5 minutes

Go to "Settings" and look under "Display & Brightness" on left side of screen. There you will see "Auto Lock." It may be set to "Automatically" Lock after 5 minutes. You can change it there to auto lock (shut down) from 2 minutes to "Never" if desired.

How do i reset my asus transformer tablet''i have a blank screen will not turn on

I had a similar problem with my Asus transformer TF101b tablet. First I charged the tablet for three hours. Then while it was still connected to the power source I held down the power button for about 30 seconds. Once I let up on the power button it took about five seconds and the tablet powered on. It took about two minutes for it to boot up and finally get to the home screen.

My nextbook keeps shutting off & its fully charged. what can i do?

I would check to see if it's overheating. If the fan inside has stopped working it will run till it overheats then shut itself off. First try blowing it out with canned air, you can also try to vacuum the dust out from the side vents. If that doesn't work prop it up on some books with a table fan pointing into the cooling vents. See if it will stay on long enough for you to save your files. If you live somewhere cold doing this outside may give you more time. If you have central air put it over the cool air vent. A netbook is such low cost to begin with even the cost of labor to replace the fan would exceed the value of the computer. If you're a handy person you can try to find a computer like yours with a broken screen or hinge and get a new fan from that. before you go tearing it apart take a good listen and make sure you can't hear the fan running. and make sure your netbook isn't passively cooled (no fan). In either case your heatsink with or without the fan may have separated from the CPU.

If i took a break from my ipad to answer the phone and talked for 5 to 10 minutes, how do i get it to shut down in about 1.5 minutes. it did this before, and now it does not shut down. why?

Set the auto lock for 2 minutes. Keep in mind that the iPad will not auto sleep and lock during certain application evolutions, like video, game application etc.

if it's just sitting at the spring board, it will auto lock at the specified time interval. 993eeec1-2ff2-4698-acad-f9b1e7b2d782.jpg imthemobile guru

The problem could be a damage to the MB by excessive heat produced by Nvidia GPU. The only way to fix this permanently is to take out the MB and reflow the GPU with heat. You can find a video on youtube how to do it. You must take out the piece of gel between GPU and cooling unit and replace it with copper bar or penny made prior 1983 - still made out of copper. Also clean the fan. Use heat transfer paste like arctic cool - not a glue, on both sides of the penny. Install win7. Win7 does not use the coprocessor and will help to ran the notebook cooler. Install speedFan 4.40 - free utility to see what the temp is of your GPU and CPU. If you did good job it will stay around 55C. If your HP notebook is still running check the temp. If the GPU is running 80C or more it will melt the connections on the MB and quit working sooner or later.
