New battery in bike lose charge over night

tons of Italian spice at a budget price. Mine has nearly 20k on it. I would also take tire advice if anybody has any. Since the bike is down I am going to change those too. Mostly commuting some day trips and always ride in the rain. Thanks much. We're going to need some more info. How old is the battery? The battery won't hold a charge or the charging system doesn't put enough energy back to the battery to restart it after running for a while? Check all your electrical connections battery terminals, solenoid, starter, and engine/frame back to ground. On the left engine side cover is a heavy gauge cable from the altenator. Follow that wire to some push connectors. Check around the connections for burned or brittle wire insulation. Check the regulator/recifier (R/R), aluminum block with fins, wiring as well. It wouldn't be unreasonable, on a '93, to expect that it may need a new stator and R/R.,,,

I think 13.26 is very good for a bike of it's age. Especially charging a bigger cell battery such as a car battery! I wouldn't worry to much about your charging system looks to be doing just fine. almost sounds like your bike needs to be taken out for a Relief of sitting run.

I'm thinking your battery is the wrong ah. 8.6 for that type motorcycle is quite low. I would expect around 12 - 14 ah. Actually you should not be draining the battery though. The problem may be in the alternator assy its self. Have you checked all three legs of the charging system coming from the stator? I have found the stator to be the culprit many times in this situation. The bike should not be draining the battery at all if the alternator is charging correctly. What was the oem battery ah that you replaced?

Your running off the battery until it dies. Check your chargng system. It should put out 13.0-14.5 volts. If not then the current will flow from what ever source has the most voltage. Thus, your dead battery. Try changing he voltage regulator and then check the stator next. Sometime stators can have burned section on them and reduce the voltage produced to the battery. Also check for really good connectin to the terminals. This can rob current and voltage by upt o 40%.
