We have a Bosch washing machine (3 years old) front load. It smells really bad. I did clean the rubber door seal (very black inside) but it still smells..like old musty and moldy. We leave the door open most of the time. Its driving my wife crazy..this machine works great (knock on wood) it just smells. The manual did say you can drain the pump from the bottom, but then it has to be re-filled? How can I make the smell go away? Please help. She has always used Cheer liquid detergent.
Check that the water is not backing up the waste pipe from the u-bend. If the pipe to the u-bend raised 3-4 inches just before connecting to your u-bend, then dirty water down the sink can go in to the washing machine.

Re: Bosch Axxis Front Load Washer
Make a boil wash (with no clothes and detergents) put in the powder's drawer a cup of bicarbonate of soda.
It should clean the machine and move out the bad smell.
As there is no chlorine bleaching agents in liquid powder it has a tendency to leave the machine smelling a bit after a while.

a little bit of vanilla extract will take care of the smell. as far as getting the smell in the first place there is a problem with the drain system either the pump is not quite up to spec and leaving too much water in it or there is a problem with the line coming from it or the drains in your home. my advice would be to call bosch your washer is still under warranty and they will send someone out to look for it at no charge. this is not something i would be taking apart when the company will do it for you.
Remove the top of the machine(screws are at the back). Look down the side of the front door on the inside of the machine. You will see a metal wire band holding the rubber on. You usually only need a screwdriver to loosen the screw which holds it tight. Try it out and get back to me if you get problems good luck
IMPORTANT: Read thoroughly. DO NOT add detergent or other laundry products to this cycle. 1.Remove all items from the washer. 2.Open the dispenser drawer and 2/3 cup (160 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach compartment. DO NOT use more than 2/3 cup (160mL) of bleach per cycle as this will lead to product damage. 3.Close the washer door and dispenser drawer. 4.Select the Clean Washer cycle or a full wash cotton 104 F wash (40 C). DO NOT use any higher temperature as this will cause unnecessary fumes 5.Press Start and allow cycle to complete. 6.If the bad odour persists, repeat the procedure 1 or 2 more times. This may be necessary if this is the first time you have run this cycle. 7.After the cycle is complete, leave the door open slightly to allow ventilation and drying of the washer interior. 8.Repeat the cleaning procedure monthly. To maintain the washer freshness: 1.Use only HE High Efficiency detergent. 2.Leave the door open after each cycle to for better ventilation and drying of the washer interior. 3.Use warm / hot water in your machine unless the fabric you are washing requires cold. 4.Use the correct amount of fabric softener. 5.If your laundry room is damp, use a dehumidifier. 6.Clean the door seal of visible residue.
