Hi, I checked my rpcrt4.dll, it is a 5692 kb, a check on the web says it is originally a 323.2 kb file Remote Procedure Call Runtime, v. 5.1.2600.1106 available for download at http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?rpcrt4 I believe it can also be extracted from the I386 folder of your XP installer CD. If your system will not boot fully, try F8 to boot in Safe Mode. Perhaps it may be worth your while to also do a full scan for viruses or ads/malicious software of your HD. Hope this work out for you. Post back how things are or should you need further information. Kind regards.

Compaq Presario 2500 stopped loading windows XP with a prompt STOP: c0000221 {bad Image Checksum} The image COMCTL32.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the computed checksum.

This error is not the same as a CMOS Checksum Error, which refers to corrupted values of the CMOS settings, the ones you set through the BIOS setup program. This error means the contents of the BIOS code itself are damaged.

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press delete to enter setup
Press and hold delete during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
click start control panel date and time you can make your adjustments to the date and time from there also right click on the date and time on the bottom toolbar (bottom of screen) you should see Adjust date and time tab
hope this helps you

Many DLL error messages on start up

Your Operating System is corrupted, probably by a virus or a program you recently installed.
The best solution would be to reinstall your Operating System (OS).
Remember to back up your data before OS installation.

Greetings,

When you upgrade your computer to Windows XP, you may receive an error message that is similar to one of the following: C0000221 (Bad Image Checksum)
-or- STOP: C0000221 - Bad Image Checksum in ModuleName

C0000139 Entry Point not Found computer will not boot-up.

Hi,

Are you getting this error with RPCRT4.DLL. If you do you need to replace this file from the Xp disk.
If you cannot follow, send me a message at [email protected] and hope we can talk over gmail or skype and i'll guide you through.

It may be difficult for you to do it.But if you could do, here the steps are :--
1.Use the Windows XP Recovery Console to replace the RPCRT4.dll file with the original version. To do this, follow these steps:
Insert your Windows XP CD-ROM into the computer's CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive, and then restart your computer from the CD-ROM.
Some computers may require that you modify the basic input/output system (BIOS) settings before you can start the computer from a CD-ROM. For information about how to modify BIOS, see your computer documentation.
At the Welcome to Setup screen, press R to start the Recovery Console.
Press the number key that corresponds to the installation that you want to repair, and then press ENTER.
Type the Administrator password, and then press ENTER.
With the Windows XP CD-ROM still in the CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command:
cd system32
ren RPCRT4.dll RPCRT4.old
CD-ROM_or_DVD-ROM_Drive_Letter:
cd \i386
expand RPCRT4.dl_ BootDriveLetter:\windows\system32
exit

It'll fix your problem. :-)
