Check the fuse on the back of the unit to see if it's blown. Also, be sure that the tab on the filter frame is making adequate contact with the safety trigger device, on the back of the unit. In addition, be sure that the outlet the unit is plugged into is working.
Assuming that the unit was working fine before you cleaned it. Did you remove the back lower panel while cleaning it? It the panel that holds the electrical socket and fuse. If you did, check to see if the electrical connector is seated to the main board. Also check if the keyboard connector (the one that looks like a telephone jack) is plugged into the main board. Also, check if you model has a switch on the back that it is set to the on position. And press the power switch on the front keypad to see if that make the unit work. That all I can think that might have gone wrong.

My husband came home and checked out the unit. He discovered that the cord was bad, so he replaced it with one we had. It works fine. The cord plugs into the unit at one end and into the wall at the other end. There was no rewiring needed. Problem solved!
Use a DVM continuity function to see if the fuse is blown, and check all the DO FIRST literature packed with the thing. You probably get to take a note out of the ionizer chamber.
