Waste ink absorber full

There are 7 alternate flashing green and amber lights. It said earlier that the waste absorber was full and this can't be resolved by the reset codes I've got. In the past I've been able to press resume when it gave me the ink absorber nearly full message but now, after changing the black cartridge, it's not working at all and the print head appears to be stuck. Please advise!! Thanks

Thanks for your help - now the printer head has unjammed which is great but for some reason the black ink cartridge isn't working. The printer is printing out every colour except black.

    Any more suggestions gratefully received!

(continue to hold down the power button) 3)While continuing to hold down the power button press the Resume/Cancel button 3 times then release both buttons. 4)The LED should now be green. I'm not sure of the design of that cartridge but there is usually a small hole in the top that gets uncovered when the wrapping is removed. If you can find it then using a straw (or just your mouth if your not fussy) blow into the cartridge until ink flows. You may want to put a paper towel over the exit when you do this! This trick has saved me countless "cleaning" cycles not to mention money. Hope it works for you.

Lights flashing 7 times

Never heard of 7 flasjhes.

Five flashes = No Print Head Installed. Install or re-install.

Eight flashes = Waste ink absorber* almost full. The printer has a built-in waste ink absorber to hold the ink consumed during Print
Head cleaning. Eight flashes indicates that this absorber is nearly full.
Press the R R ESUME/CANCEL button to clear the error so printing can continue for a while.
A longer term RESET IS possible BUT without changing the blotters, you're exposed to ink eventually running out of the printer without warning but... if you still want to continue, here are the reset instructions. Good luck!
1) With the printer powered off, hold down the resume button and press the power button.
2) While holding down the power button, release the resume button and press the resume button twice in succession. Now release the power button. The indicator will blink in green and remain lit in green.
Now press the resume button 4 times and then the power button. You've just reset the waste ink counter. Good luck. Just hope it doesn't come back to bite you!

Waste ink absorber is full and need to be replace unable to print

The waste ink absorber is a pair of pads at the bottom of the printer paper path (one on each side). You can order replacement pads from a service center. Alternatively, you can resuse them. First, you need to pull the old pads (have plenty of paper towels handy). This can take nearly disassembling the printer. Then rinse the pads with running water until they are clean and then let them dry, if you want to reuse them. Once dry, reinsert them and reassemble the printer.

Next you need to reset the counter for the waste ink absorber. With the printer plugged in but off. Press and hold the Stop/Reset button then press the power button. Once the Power light is lit, press the Stop/Reset button twice while holding the Power button. Release the buttons in any order and the printer is in a service mode. With the lights Green, press and release the Stop/Reset button four times (the light will go orange and green alternately and will be green at this command). Set the counter to zero. Press the Power button to save the setting. Then turn on the printer normally.

Do not reset the counter until the waste ink absorber is cleaned/replaced, you will get ink everywhere.

Please note that the printer was designed to fail about the same time that the waste ink absorber counter hits the point that locks the unit. (ie the waste absorber doesn't get full while the unit is under warranty), the printer may have additional failures soon.

I hope this helps.

Ink absorber is full and printer won't print

Dear caucoin,
This message appears when waste ink absorber capacity rise to about more than 95 %. To fix this problem you need reset waste ink counter and it strongly recommended that you replace waste ink absorber (integrated in print base unit). Due to complicated disassembly process i suggest you to take the printer to nearest service center. For emergency reason you may perform below procedure to reset waste ink counter:
  • Plug in power cable
  • Press POWER button while holding down RESUME/CANCEL button then release RESUME/CANCEL button (do not release POWER button)
  • Press RESUME/CANCEL button two times while holding down POWER button then release all button (printer entering service mode and light stand by in green).
  • In stand by condition, press RESUME/CANCEL button 4 times (light will flash alternately in orange & green each time the button pressed).
  • Turn off printer and turn on again.

Now your printer back to normal condition. Hope this will be useful for you and don't forget to rate me.
