Question about Brother MFC-3240C All-In-One InkJet Printer
If you are using cheap photo paper, the ink won't dry fast enough before touching parts of the printer as the paper moves during the printing process. Solution: buy top grade photo paper which dries the ink instantly upon contact with the paper.

On some injects, paper dust collects under the print-head and will eventually drag across you picture or document. On most you will see a hook like drag at the end of the line where the pater was advancing and the print-head was returning. If this is the case, unplug the printer and try to carefully clean the junk out from under the print-head with a piece of pater towel maybe even very slightly moistened with water.

The printer may not be scratching your printout but you may have a clogged printhead. A clogged printhead will constantly miss a spot creating an effect of a scratch printout. Please run an all inks printhead cleaning routine (2 or 3 times) and create a test page. Best Regards
