When I got the scanner I successfully scanned several old pictures that were stored in the Toolbox in files according to date. Now when I attempt to scan in either photo or pdf. it gives the message "Unable to scan:Make sure that there is enough space on the target disc". I'm not sure what the target disc is and have stored some of the files elsewhere (online)to clear space in the Toolbox. Keeps bringing up the same message no matter what part of my C Disc I try. THank you.
I had the same error. The way I fixed it was going to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Canon (the app data folder) and I cleaned the files in all the sub folders.
That fixed it for me.

Mine started doing the same thing, but after a little troubleshooting I realized I had a "flashdrive" on one of my usbs I opted for removing it and BOOM! That was the culprit. After that it started scanning as usual ;)

Hello, It may be possible that the error msg that you are receiving may be referring to another error. 1st thing I would try is checking the resolution, in some cases if the resolution is too high it may result with numerous issue's if your random access memory (RAM) is not sufficient enough to accommodate the resolution that you attempting to scan with. Try reducing the resolution, also try a different file type, either jpeg or tiff etc..,if all failes check to see if you have the latest driver(s) update for your scanner.

I am having the same problem. Changing the scan resolution has no effect. I have 40Gig available on my C: drive yet it indicates not enough storage space???
I get the same problem when trying to use scanner to mail a photo. It will not scan.
Have the same problem, unable to scan, make sure that there is enough space in the target disk......what is a target disk,? doesn't say it anywere and I have a presentation in an hour......
If you change the disk drive, it works a few times and then reverts to the same "unable to scan..." message.
