IVE READ A LOT OF POST AND WANT TO MAKE SURE THERE'S NOTHING ELSE I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE I TRY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE TV JUST SHUT DOWN WHILE WATCHING AND THE POWER LIGHT BLINKS GREEN 5 TIMES AND THAN RED 6 TIMES WITH A PAUSE AND KEEPS REPEATING THE CYCLE OF 6 RED BLINKS. AFTER READING OTHER PROBLEMS I'M THINKING TO TRY THE THERML FUSE FIRST AND THAN THE THERMOCOUPLER. BUT I MAINLY READ THEIR TV'S BLINK 3 GREEN AND 6 RED...SO IS MINE DIFFERENT? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT!!

I turned my tv on today and nothing happened, then the pic off/tim le started to blink. Check the cables, makes sure all connections are still snug. If your using HDMI, try swapping it out for one you know works. There are a lot of lemons out there.

Now,tv turn on have picture flashes few sec.than dies,have sound left only?Yes the 2 or 1 long boards call the LCD inverter boards are dead.These 1 or 2 long LCD inverter boards help the LCD screen panel to have a backlight to produced a picture.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy the 1 or 2 long LCD inverter boards for the replacement.
it might bea problem with your actual video cord that plugs into the tv.... umm my xbox has a lot of issues too but ive never had this. id suggest you let it say off for a while and try somebody elses cords that connect the xbox to the tv to see if its an issue with your xbox or if its with your cords. ill also suggest you call microsoft and they can troubleshoot...
1) When the picture "stops", does the standby light blink at all?
2) Can you post the model number please?
Some of these sets are known to have problems with the picture tube as it starts to age. There are some workarounds for this that can extend the life of the set for a short time. Without the model number though, I can't confirm that this set is in that catagory. Please supply responses to the issues above and we'll continue from there.
if that's a dlp unit they are garbage ive had two and both died in same manner in less than a year one the bulb blew on in three months after purchase then went blank and started making a high pitched squealing sound had to argue with rca cust support after repair shop said they could not fix it rca finally sent me a new one but with less features after i argued with them for another three that one did the same thing after three months now rca wont even talk to me and ive got a 100lbs paperweight that does nothing i was told it was the light engine at a cost of around a grand for part so don't waste your money on a repair shop mine is still sitting there blank and i understand this is a common problem from checking the web just roll it in the back yard spend you money on one that will work im going lcd this time and i do houseld appliances not tvs so dont worry about rating me i like to pass this info on every chance i get just to help my friends at rca
