Continual restarts are either a corrupt driver, but its a process of illimination as to which one so start your pc in safe mode (F8 on boot up)and select start windows in safe mode; as this will only load the graphics in VGA mode and not the main driver and if it all works ok without the graphics driver, suspect the graphics driver and uninstal it and download a newer version. The other bios problem may be the fact that your cmos battery (CR2032 disc shaped on the motherboard) may need changing if all your settings are wrong (eg date and time are always wrong)and you have to keep pressing F1 to continue to load windows.

My acer 4937G does not start. After the windows vista logo appears, the computer automatically off's itself, without any warning.what is my problem?

first of all you have to check if it is a hardware or software issue, go to bios screen and leave the computer in bios screen, if it restarts in bios screen it is a hardware issue and if it didn't then it is a operating system issue, then you can probably check with safemode with networking, last known good configeration etc, if nothing works, then you can reinstall the operating system, after reinstalling operating system if it still contineous then you have to check thsi computer is hardware specialist/vendor

Hi, The screen flickers at the taskbar end every 2 second. Lenovo R400, 7443-TGA. This my second time using the lenovo thinkpad product with the same problem. Why lenovo screen always problem. I never.....

Hi techsyss,

I see that you are having issue with your taskbar flickering as you mentioned in the notes.

I would be more than glad to assist you regarding your concern.

>Try to reinstall your Video Drivers on the machine or poassibly update the Video drivers.

>Try chagning the resoltion on your system try setting it to a resolution that is lower than what you actually have and see if the flickering will still be occuring.

>Also try to boot into the BIOS of the machine to see if the Flickering occurs in BIOS as well, to boot into BIOS upon powering the machine keep on tapping F1 till you get a blue screen saying phoenix BIOS as long as the word BIOS is there you are in the right page. just check if the flickering happens there, if it does then the issue is not software but most likely hardware it can be the LCD itself or the Cable conenction of the LCD to the Video on the motherboard.

>if the flickering is present in BIOS most likely you will need to have the system serviced for proper repairs and diagnostics.

I hope this helps.

Have a nice day,

I was try and already load in the windows xp setup screen (blue setup screen) but after I press F8 to agree with continous then show me like a caution page you need to exit setup, the descripiton is like...

Hello

1. On POST (Powerup). enter BIOS by pressing F2
2. Tab along to the second option "Main"
3. Goto last option "SATA mode" & press enter.
4. From the small selection display select "IDE mode"
5. Save & exit the BIOS. This will then set the SATA mode for XP to be recognise.

Now try install XP.....DO NOT set this back to SATA Mode after you install the XP as it will NOT boot.

Hp pavilion dv5, flickering screen problem mostly when 26" external monitor is connected, Using Windows Vista 32bit

First restart the computer and tap f10 key on keyboard to enter bios, and check wethere the screen flickers or not you can even try to tilt the screen and check as the drivers doesnt works in bios screen ... if the screen flickers then it is a hardware issue .. if it doesnt then log on to safe mode with networking by pressing f8 as the notebook restarts and then go to device manager by typeing device at the start search and the uninstall the video driver and then reinstall it from hp.com support and drivers ..issue will be resolved if not then do a bios update from hp.com, support and drivers.

My hp slimline's screen flickers violently at times and then it calms, but sometimes my computer restarts. Sometimes on restart it will not communicate a signal to the monitor. Problem has gotten steadily...

That issue normally happens with the graphics card. I am not sure if you have a PCI or an AGP graphics card or an onboard graphics card. But for all of the issue, you can try updating the motherboard chipset driver, or the graphics card (incase you have the onboard or AGP graphics card).

Try logging in to BIOS stay for some time and check if the screen flickers. If the screen flickers still in BIOS, its a possible graphics issue

Acer Aspire 7520 doesn't start up!

There should be a F key option at start up during the bios side of boot up. Look closely and quickly at the screen when starting up. You should see on that says retstore maybe.

if not just press all of the F keys skiping the ones listed for start up options and bios option.
