I have a motorola flip phone. (actually it's my 82 year old mothers) For some reason it has been going off a 6am. There are no alarms set or even stored. But when you flip the phone open, on the top right of the screen is the battery icon. To the left of that is a bell with )) next to it. How do I get this turned off?

Thanks
Sheila

Same problem here... I saw this on everything q board. I'm going to try it...:

"however i actually think i got it to stop, yes i tried turning it off, yes i tried uninstalling ctalarm, yes i tried resetting the alarm for a diff time, i even set it for 11 am (which is what it was stuck on) and when 11 rolled around i got two alarms!!!

but i actually fixed it i think, what i did was leave the phone off when the alarm shouldve gone off, so it was turned off at 11 am, i was charging but phone was off and now it doesnt do it anymore!!! yay"

My 2003 Mercury Mountaineer alarm system goes off by itself sometimes. Keeps repeating even though I remotely cut it off. Last night I had to finally go out and start the vehicle to make it quit.

bad door switch. See this post

http://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/dome-light-stays-on/

The BCM sees it as a door opening and sets off the alarm

A bad door switch can malfunction ANY time. The alarm is looking for a door switch or hood switch opening. That's where you start--with an intermittent switch

1957>??? really?

all alarms are a box with a processor in it, a computer, or puter.
the alarm brain.
so like all computers, garage in , nets you,? garbage out.
called GIGO, in the business.
on newer cars 07+? they will tell you what is wrong, using a scan tool
but many old cars , (my big beef) will not. (best is to kill it forever )
(imagine, all 6 billion cars on earth all with false alarms, a world H3LL that , huh) mines off all the time. nobody listens to them. ever.

fixing old alarms with out my special tools is very very hard.
if lucky , inspect all sensor wires, then replace all switches.
old switches fail and for sure 1957 LOL !!!!!!
in my shop I have a voltage (and others) data logger.
i can connect my logger up and then beat up the doors.
rattle them, even drive and see them mess up.
it logs to a flash card.
old wiring and parts on old cars, all fail.
due to wear and corrosion or water ingress.

some alarms have shake switches, that can tip.
the FSM for your, explains all this if alarm is stock.
nah 1957 hand none. right?
the FSM book covers all tests of the alarm.
get one.
if car is not really 1957
then login to alldata.com and see your stock alarm
if not stock , then post all sticker data on side of it.
or photo it and post it.

How can I stop my Imate 9502 reverting back to Eastern Australian Standard Time when we have been operating on Daylight Saving time since 3 October? I keep adjusting the time, saving the settings, however...

I wonder if your 'Sync to current time zone' box, under 'Start > Settings > System tab > Clock & Alarms > Time tab', is unchecked...
Other thoughts: check, with a Task Manager, if ActiveSync is running in the background. If so, set its schedule to sync manually. However, if no sync data are set at all, you can either set it to sync with an exchange server, like 'm.google.com' (if you have a google account, that is), or even fill in completely fake exchange server data, provided that the sync schedule is set to manual. Then, you can exit ActiveSync (or even kill its process).
Hope you are able to sort your problems out soon, but, please, let me know if you need further assistance.

boot_c_03.08.00r_mpap Paul Sager from FixYa has posted a solution for this problem previousley (as below). I have tried the Motorola and Verizon sites (tried the store as well) and the software is not available to flash the phone. Do you know of a site that would still have it available? Or can this question be sent to Paul to further comment on it? All I want to do is recover the phone numbers, notes and calandar from the phone via Activesync or Windows. Paul Sager 2335 Solutions July 14, 2010 I can help you with your Motorola Moto Q. What has happened is that the firmware of your phone has become corrupted. When this happens your phone will no longer finish its boot sequence. This is a very common situation with many phones: in fact, much of what I do here at Fixya is explain how people can fix their MP3 players, GPS and phones by reflashing the firmware. The good news is that if you take your phone into your carrier's store, they can reflash it for you right there (if they have a competent tech handy.) If you are comfortable with computers etc, you can also do it yourself. Your computer will communicate with and fix your phone, even though it doesn't seem to recognize it right now - I've seen this many many times. My only warning for you is that if you are going to flash your phone yourself, you need to get the correct firmware from motorola's site for your carrier. I just downloaded the Verizon firmware as an example - Motorola's website has about ten different carrier firmwares for their MotoQ phone. I hope that helps.
