The fridge is working ok. when the freezer is switched on, the compressor (the one without the water tray above it - assume is freezer compressor ?) is very hot to touch (it's still warm now having turned the freezer off over 2 hours ago). there is no clicking noise coming from the compressor. is this a compressor or a thermostat problem ? appx how much should it cost to get a new compressor fitted ? thanks !
The compressor does run warm but not hot, if the freezer is not cooling then the comp is faulty, approach local repair agent for cost. Regards The Advisor Smeg Agent

I not sure there is a problem... the compressor does get quite hot... Is there is a cooling fan and is it running.. some will have cooling tubes on back of the firdge without a cooling fan.. but. what is the problem.. you think compressor is getting too Hot?

hi - the problem is that the freezer is not working at all. i don't think there is a fan.
i have exactly the same problem, freezer packed up - everything has defrosted, the condenser at the back is too hot to touch when freezer is switched on however no chill in the compartment.
Fridge is still running fine.
Product is only 2 years old!!
Any further info on what is the problem/cost??
Thanks
Jack
