This is my 2nd mp3 player (creative zen, 2gb) and after a while my screen just goes dark. I can't tell what songs are in my library or do anything else because I can't see whats going on. But, I can still hear music. Can you help me please?
The previous poster is right; I do repairs on these all the time, and the most common problem is a cracked screen. The crack is on the back so you can't see it. The screen will need to be replaced.

I have the exact same problem. I just got a new one, but it was a pain to have to put all the songs back on to it. You should probably bring it to an electric store or something and see if they can fix it.

It seems that you may need to have the lcd changed or reconnected. if it is going dark, it is probably that the screen is faulty and that is or has gone out on you. connie

Usually answered in minutes!
my screen is also dark and i can still hear music also, the inside of the screen looks scratched
My daughter's Zen was stepped on and the screen has been dark since. I guess that means the display is cracked somewhere and needs to be replaced. How/where can I get that done? I've googled for an answer but I'm not finding anything.
Thanks!
zen goes black cant hear or see songs
YES I DO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WHILE I WAS LISTENING A SONG THE SCREEN GOT BLACK ..! I CAN HEAR BUT I CAN'T SEE...! WHAT SHOULD I DO?
how do i contact creative zen to have it replaced or where do i go to have it replaced?
the same
The LCD display has gone out on my Zen V plus. The player still works just can not see my display? I purchased the player about a year ago.
my screen on day just went black but it still plays
it seems to have gradually got darker and darker... i could almost see it at first, now it's pretty much impossible
One day I plugged my zen v in and it just didnt light up. I hear fine but I cant see anything but vague vague light.
Same problem here, music plays but can't see the screen at all. It's gone from bad to not being able to see it all.
same problem, it looks impossible to fix becuase there is no screws or any way in getting into the inside. Looks like a lost cause....
same here. Nothing seems to work: recharging, rebooting, formatting... nothing. And I've had the stupid thing for only three months.
i have normal zen just the rectangle i bought new earphones today plugged them in and the mp3 wont turn on but it still plays music what do i do with it
the screen is totally dark. i can't read anything on it at all.
MY screen went almost completely dark with VERY little contrast, in light you can see nothing but in the dark you can somewhat see the images on the screen. It still functions fine aside from not being able to see ****.
I have the same problem, only this morning the music for me stopped working too. (after I clumsily dropped it while rushing to class...) I've had it for two years. It's been dropped several times in its lifetime, but I didn't even drop it or do anything to it when the screen went dark.
