No display Hi to all, I have a Acer aspire 5050 notebook. When I power ON the NB, it's power LED is ON. But no display. I changed and checked the memory. again seems the same problem. Anybody help

Hi Sunmoon, Do you hear any boot up noises from the laptop? Does it appear to be working as normal, but without a picture - sometimes you may know this because you hear the XP / Vista logon sound. It could be a backlight or inverter problem. If you look side on to the screen you might see a faint image. Moncapitaan

Use safe mode to boot into windows to see if it will work, then use last working configuration to get it to boot normally.

Hi, if it works with an external monitor it's more likely an LCD problem. When you push the power button, noting comes up on the main LCD screen? not even the Acer logo etc.?
Did you set your video card to use an external monitor and disabled the primary LCD? If so, you need to go to display settings, advanced and go to ATI Display and make sure that the notebook monitor is on.

If you dont see any green lights and you dont hear any boot up sounds ( hd, fans, etc) try to take out battery and just plug in the AC adapter to a known good power outlet. Make sure your power plug is good too. If you hear boot-up sounds, see green lights but no display then toggle on the "fn" key and or try on an external monitor.

hi, when the laptop batt goes down it will switch to power save mode, the moon that that u see is the power save standby mode, u will have to wake up the system using the wakeup key on the keyboard or hard reset will do.. let me know
