possible cause is that ps3 uses an ip address leased from the wi fi router via its DHCP Server in Router. If PS3 was off for a while another computer on Wi FI network may have been assigned the IP address that the PS3 thinks it has.
Try page 29 of
http://au.playstation.com/media/2Pv7AFEC/CECH-2102B_2103B-3.20_UKANZ[EN]_vf1.pdf
on page 31 change the ip address setting to manual
set ip to 192.168.0.254 subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Now exit setup
Then go back into Setup
Change IP address setting to Auto
Why
This will renew the ip address from the DHCP server to the ps3 hopefully allocating you a fresh IP address lease .

If your network is not using DHCP, you must manually assign an IP address. One of the easiest ways is to use the Print Server Setup. Utility on the drivers CD.
You need to setup a fixed IP address for this printer that no other users will use this address. Please follow the printer user manual in how to setup a fixed ip address. You will need to diable the DHCP ip address in your printer.
Secondly you will need to reserve this IP address in your router's DHCP server which corresponds to your printer's MAC address (a unique machine address code for each device). Please follow this properly in your router's user manual.
Thirdly please unblock the firewall settings in every PC that needs to use this printer. Usually this will be unblocked when you install the printer driver or program that comes with the printer.
Fourthly, please install this printer program properly that comes with this printer. You should detect this printer's fixed ip address during the process of the installation.
Please let us know any problem you may have in future.

1. Open Internet Explorer 5.0 or above Internet browser. 2. Enter IP address http://192.168.10.1 (the factory-default IP address setting) to the URL web address location. 3. When the following dialog box appears, enter the user name and password to login to the main configuration window, the default username and password is “admin”.
well, if you know how to setup the ip addresses manually both on your modem / router and on the ps3 i recommend you do that... but bear in mind that your dhcp server (on your modem / router) should prohibit automatic assignment of that same ip address with your ps3... for that you have to specify a range of automatically assignable ip addresses apart from your ps3...
if you have the dmz (demilitarized zone) option on your modem / router, set it up for the ip address of your ps3, which you've setup manually...
example:
router ip: 192.168.2.1
ps3 ip: 192.168.2.10
ip address pool: 192.168.2.100 - 192.168.2.250 (this shpould be manually setup not to interfere with the fixed ip address of the ps3)
dmz host: 192.168.2.10 (ip address of the ps3, which enables "opens" all of the ports for this ip address)
apart from that if you use any proxy servers to connect to the net, you have to specify these in ps3 settings as well...
there are a lot of threads on various forums on how to tweak your network connection to optimize for ps3...
Try to manually reset the phone - **#"Settings" (this will unlock the configuration) + Network + menu under number "33" - erase the configuration. Then the phone configuration will be erased. Also you can manually set IP address and TFTP server
The best thing to do would be to contact your Internet provider to be sure. There are a couple things you can check on your own that can help you determine this. When you use your DSL or Cable modem without the Router how does it work?
Do you not have to assign any IP addresses or DNS settings to get it working? If so, that is a Dynamic IP Address setup.
If you have go to into the TCP/IP settings and specify the IP address and the DNS settings that is a Static IP Address setup.
If you have to click on an icon that goes through a connection process that uses a User name and Password, that is a PPPoE IP address setup.
Once you are able to determine that you should be able to follow the instructions in the user manual.
