Kanwa -- Must say not an easy one to find. That's a pretty old generic motherboard. That motherboard has a Realtek sound controller (Your board needs the Realtek AC'97 drivers for your particular operating system).
If you use Vista or Windows 7 you should download the Realtek AC'97 Driver for Windows Vista / Windows 7) 6.0.1.6305.
For Windows XP download the Realtek AC97 Driver for Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/2003 A4.06.
If one of these doesn't work then remove the driver and install VIA Vinyl AC'97 Codec Combo Driver 7.0b
First you need to identify the sound driver, for that you need to download the application ASTRA 32 from (http://www.astra32.com/download.htm) run the appliction it auto detects your sound driver,
Then you can copy and past the name and version of your sound driver in google search and download it from the suitable website and run it ,
you need to get access to either to hardware in windows/microsoft update it is there to download or knowing the default sound download you need realtek AC97 media audio download it from this site www.brothersoft.com/realtek-ac97-audio-driver-download-65159.html
Goto realtek site(makers of ac97) and download the hi-definition driver ( version 1,6,0,4)Thgis will work with vista or xp as I have down graded to xp for stability reasons on mine. ( also if you need the video driver visit ati.com and download the radeon x bundle)
Your machine should use the AC97 codecs from Realtek. Should the standard AC97 codecs not work try the HD codecs which are linked from the same page. Windows update can sometimes create the problem you're experiencing - a reinstall should do the trick.
