Question about Casio Exilim EX-S600 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Docking station does not synchronise

When pressing the USB button, nothing happens. Until now, the computer would automatically recognize the camera and import the photos. The charging is fine, the USB cable is connected, all looks normal. Thanks

Possible faulty connection between docking station and camera. Depending on age of the camera- send it back for replacement from the seller or contact Casio. Does this model have a removable memory card? If so invest in a card reader - very cheap and more reliable than docking stations.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Hi,

Please follow the steps below for connecting the Camera to the Computer for transferring the images.

Turn the Camera ON.

Turn the Computer ON.

Make sure to Insert the Memory Stick in the Camera.

Set the USB CONNECT option in the Setup 2 Menu of the Camera to PTP. [Set the Mode dial of the Camera to Camera, press the Menu button, select SETUP-->SETUP2-->USB CONNECT-->PTP-->OK.]

Connect the Camera to the Computer using the supplied USB cable.

The Computer will automatically install the USB Driver for the Camera.

In the Importing Pictures and Videos window, click the Import button.

If the USB connection from the camera is not recognized by the computer, disconnect the USB cable and repeat changing the USB CONNECT option to PictBridge, Mass Storage or Auto.

If the issue persists, try connecting to a different USB port on the Computer.

Try re-installing the USB Driver from the Device Manager.

Good Luck!

Do what the pros do....use a card reader instead of the camera. When you plug it into the USB port, an icon will appear called "NO NAME". Double-click on it and the pics will open in "preview". From there, you can import them to a folder you create on your desktop or into iPhoto. d05ed6a.jpg

When I dock my camera, it won't switch over to USB to upload the photos to my computer. It lights up red to charge, but when I press the USB button on the right, nothing happens and it stays on "charge."

Sometimes this can happen if the points of contact are dirty or obstructed. Any simple dust will mess this up. If you are commonly docking/undocking those ports might be used to the point where they are not working anymore.

1. With the camera on and in playback mode, plug the cord from the camera into the Macbook. It should appear on the desktop as a drive, probably called "no name". If it doesn't, don't worry...the next solution always works and it's the one the pros use anyway. 2. Get a card reader and use it to download to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, you can import the pics to iPhoto.

How to take pictures with this camera -- have no instructions -- new to this -- camera was given to me -- replaced batteries -- 20 shows in view finder -- push button -- nothing happens

1. Turn the camera off by sliding the ON/OFF switch (to the right of the LCD) down to the OFF position. 2. Reinsert the batteries, making sure their polarity alternates, with the battery closest to the hinge of the battery cover pointing down into the camera and the other one pointing up. 3. Turn the camera ON. 4. Press the button on the back of the camera to select the mode. If you do nothing, then the camera is in the Hi-resolution mode. The display will momentarily switch to 20 to indicate that 20 photos are available. When you take a photo, the number will decrease. 5. Press the button on the top of the camera body to take a photo. The camera will beep when you do. 6. IMPORTANT: do not switch off the camera until you download your photos to your computer. 7. Plug in the camera to your computer with its USB cable. This will power the camera when the computer is powered and save your batteries until you can download them to you computer. 7. Install your software and follow the directions (you need to unplug your camera before you start the installation). Once you load the CD, the installation wizard should begin. If it doesn't, then your computer is not recognizing the software. Note: this software does not work on Apple OSX operating system (on my Mac), and I'm having trouble making it work on Windows XP (on my PC).

I HAVE A SONY DIGI CAM MODEL DSC W-5. MY PC IS NOW UPGRADED WITH WINDOWS VISTA AND SINCE THEN IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO DOWNLOAD THE PICTURE TO PC. THE INSTALLATION CD ISSUED WITH CAMERA DOES NOT COMPITABLE...

  1. Turn on the camera.
  2. Insert the recording media containing the pictures into the camera.
  3. Depending on your camera, set the USB Connection or Transfer mode setting in the menu to the Mass Storage , Normal , or PTP .
  4. Use the USB cable supplied with the camera to connect the camera to the computer. IMPORTANT:
    • Connection through a USB hub or other USB device -- such as a printer or keyboard -- is not supported and cannot be guaranteed. Connect the camera directly to a USB port on the computer.
    • If the USB connection from the camera is not recognized by the computer, disconnect the USB cable and repeat steps 4 and 5 using a different USB Connection or Transfer mode setting. If the connection is still not recognized, further troubleshooting is available.

    NOTES:
    • The computer will automatically install the USB driver for the camera.
    • When the camera connection is established, an AutoPlay window will appear.

  5. In the AutoPlay window, click Import pictures .
  6. In the Importing Pictures and Videos window, click the Import button. NOTE: After the pictures have been imported, the Windows Photo Gallery window will appear and display thumbnails of the imported images.
If this doesn't work there is an updated driver available

CANNOT DOWNLOAD

There is no software for the computer to recognize and it will not download to your computer automatically. This is what you do: After connecting the usb cable from the camera to your computer, go into my computer and look for the drive, it will probably show up under removable drives. Can you see the drive VTech 733 there? If so, double click on the drive to open it and find the folder named Photos. Your picture should be there.

Says camera is not connected to computer

I'm assuming that you are using a Windows based machine? If so, try another computer. If the camera is recognized when you plug it in, you have a software / driver issue and it's not in the camera. Just plug the computer into any other computer and don't bother with the software.
