Question about JVC AV-48WP74 48" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
This is by far the easiest TV to replace the convergence ic's - you don't even have to take the back off! Remove the front panel by removing the screws on the back edges secured to the front to the cabinet, also remove the small screw behind the front control door - the front comes off - remove access panel, there you will see the convergence board right in front - unplug the connectors to the board - pull it out and replace the ic's (2)part# STK392-110. Also check for any burnt or discolored resistors near the ic's - they may need replacing

thanks so much
Hello! I am always on a tight budget and my bigscreen (same model as being talked about here) just started spazzing out. Sounds like the convergence chip I have been reading about. I am somewhat tech abled so I ventured into the cabinet and found the convergence board and the chips desribed. I have found the chips all over the net from 5 bucks up to 50 for jvc branded ones. My question is, will any work such as the Sanyo branded ones I have found?
Thanks in advance,

Oh I forgot to mention, The spazzing occurred in the snap of a finger while I was watching television. At first I thought that the program had changed to 3-D!
