Question about Panasonic PT-51HX41 51" Rear Projection Television
I turned on my TV of 7 years and noticed that i see on the top and bottom of the screen double images of the picture. For example if the top half said the word component I would see it in red and green. I tried using fix the convergent option but nothing I do aligns them up through the remote. Any suggestions - whats the repair going to cost? Is it something I can fix or would need a TV repair guy.
Yeah, you could get service to replace convergence IC's and perhaps related resistors for these amplifier circuits, ($250-450);however, if you want save some money do it yourself. Get really familiar with service man mode(remote), invest (if you don't already have) in good small tip soldering iron, solder braid or wick, small gauge rosin core solder(.05), knowledge of resistor color code and a whole lot of patience. I completed this job for less than $100, I purchase two sets STK392-110's because first set was cheap 'knock off' that didn't get me close enough with course service adjustment buy Sanyo. Have fun

You need to change the convergence ic's IC7001,IC7002 = part# STK392-110. Also check for any burnt or discolored resistors nearby. (about a $350 - $500 repair)
