My ps2 light (green and blue) wont turn on when i turn my ps2 on and when i open it i found out a sliver strip nest to the tray has been removed from a chip i know which chip it was but how do i put it back on and where

The ribbon cable should have a stiff plastic reniforcement atached the the end. you get a Pair of Precision needle nose pliers and insert the ribbon cable in the holder, I think you are calling this a chip. There are no holds or clips , just grip to hold the cable into the socket. WWW.playstionclinic.com can help if this does not work.

if you had opened your ps2 the cord connecting to your motherboard for the tray the cord probably came off its a gray cord you take your ps2 apart and it connects the top part to the bottom part just reconnect it to the insertion point it connected to and you should be back in businesas

Ps2 cd tray does not open and the eject button light flashes
This is the tray getting stuck on the PS2 shell/casing. I can fix mine as it does the same thing but I tap it one quick time after I hit the eject button and it will usually open. Don't try to pry the tray open or this will make the problem worse.

Black screen, no disc spin or eject, fan spins
That same thing happened to me. I disassembled the ps2 to find out the problem, I found out. If your console does not turn on or no lights check the silver ribbin connected to the reset button. See If it is in all the way the top and the bottom of the ribbin or check to see if there are any tares in it if there is replace it . You can get good parts off of Ebay.

Getting ps2 micro switches realigned
micro switches is wat turns on and off the PlayStation2 and they make the Cd tray come out and resets the ps2 the buttons are the green button on the front of the ps2 to restart and turn on the ps2
and the blue button is at the bottom of the green one the blue button makes the Cd tray come out and the last micro button it at back of the ps2 its a black button that turns off and on the ps2

PS2 is on, but no signal
The tray has become misalligned. If you want to fix it on your own heres what you do. Remove the 6 (or 8 depending on generation) screws on the bottom. Remove the warranty sticker on the back by the power switch. With the front towards you, lift the top while tilting slightly toward the front and pivoting it by the power/eject buttons. Either remove the button assembly by popping it off the lid or just be careful not to tear the cable. Remove 4 philips screws from the cd mech lid and lift off. Remove two philips screws from the tray hinge. Lift and slide tray out of front. Push white gear frame at front of tray area to the right and hold it there while you put the tray back in. Reassembly is reverse of disassembly.

PlayStation wont power on
The jumper between the buttons and motherboard may be disconected. Open up your ps2, see if there is a blue /white ribbon cable that is unpluged. If you have already opened your ps2 rrior to this, thr case map be jamming the button.
