Re:
Reel sensor is the problem of your camera it is a common problem to that model, maybe the pinch roller is loosen to the post cause of the lock of that is been broke..that roller is that one that pulling the tape...only a technician can put it back to the mechanism and replace that lock...in sony service they replace the whole assembly and cost a lots...i suggest find other service center for fixing it...hope that roller is not lost in your camera...

It is telling you it does not see a proper type tape in the camera, is the cleaner tape a digital 8 cleaner or normal 8? as though they look the same the case is slightly dif at the rear.
Believe it or not, after having the same problem "re-insert cassette" and "reattach power source", and after talking to Sony and them telling me it would be $111.00 to repair, I hit mine with the palm of my hand twice on each side and twice on the back by the battery and it actually worked--haha Go Figure!!
1. The idler gear does not engage with the reel disk well.
2. Though the idler gear and reel disk are engaged with
each other, the tape is not wound because of overload
to the mechanism.
3. No FG pulse is output from the reel sensor.
4. No power is supplied to the reel sensor.
5. Tape transport operation takes place with a cassette
having no tape inside.
6. The tape slackens and no pulse is produced until the
slack is taken up and the tape comes into the normal
Hi, The error C 32:11 denotes for mechanical unsuitability, This problem appears when the improper insertion of the cassette been done, or lose cassette tape stuck, In all these situations mechanical adjustment is required, You are suggested to please contact any expert for the mechanical adjustment. Hope you will understand my sayings. Thanks for using fixya.
The problem is with the S-reel. Take the tape out, remove the battery, and give it a slight bump. This usually fixes the issue for a couple of weeks. I haven't heard of any permenant fixes. I took my cam into circuit city (before they closed) twice for the same issue. Very frustrating when you don't know what the issue is.
Turn the unit off and hit the back of the camera twice near the battery compartment with the palm of your hand. Sounds crazy but it worked with my camcorder Sony DCR-TRV480. Problem started when I used 8MM Head Cleaner. I think the roller got stuck inside camcorder. The trouble code came up C:31:22. Hope this helps.
What error message is it giving to you ?? as this will be a good indication of fault. You have tried all the usual things to try by the sounds of things,
I have the same problem of C:31:22 Reinsert Cassette for all cassettes i am using in DCR-HC26.
