I have left my Epson stylus CX4600 unused for the better part of two years. When I went to use it I found out that my roommate had taken the ink cartridges out and it had been sitting empty all that time. I've put in new ink and I've tried running it through but aside from the black which is a little scratchy none of the colors are working. I've cleaned the print head several times and left it over night with no improvement, is there anything else that I could do?
First off ( I know it's too late for you but for others ) NEVER turn off your printer it stays warm when on and keeps the ink from drying up and turning into cement in the nozzles.
I had this problem before and first used lighter fluid in the nozzles. This freed them up a bit but still was not back to normal so I then sprayed some wd-40 in the nozzles and after printing out all the crap it was back to normal 100%.
I know this sounds quite unusual but if it works don't knock it.

Maybe a drop of water in each nozzle to try and lossen things up? I dont know just a thought, sounds like it may be a lost cause anyways, so it may be worth a shot.

Color has not been used. The printer has brand new cartridges now and it will not print color or black.
I have left my 4600 unused for a year and it won't print at all. I've turned it on, ALL the lights are on and I'm unable to select what I want.
