No sound... I can't figure out why there is no sound on the videoclips we have recorded. I've looked in the manual to see if there is a setting that needs to be changed, but can't find anything. I'm starting to wonder if the camera was broken when we got it...help!!!!

There is no sound on the clips because the camera does not have a speaker, if/when you transfer the video to the PC you will hear sound

Record continously skips after 4 or 5 seconds.

You need to apply more pressure to the stylus. This is done by adjusting a weight on the other end of the arm. See your manual for more details.

Since you have tried everything in the settings, then try updating the sound driver of your computer. To be safe, check if all drivers are up-to-date or not. You can use RadarSync to scan your computer. It will tell you if there are any outdated drivers.

When you play the video back and get no sound are you doing this on your camera or on the computer? I have the same camera, and noticed that when I playback something I've recorded I don't have sound either, mind you I don't have static either. But once I've uploaded the video onto my pc the sound is there.

Sound from a speaker, nah, that's an optional feature (kidding).

If you dig into the manual annd go through the setup using the test tones you can prove/disprove the viability of all the speakers and channels. THAT is required before we try to listen to 'music' (assumed 2-channel) on multiple speakers.
Sound Field programs (page 25) can be applied to just about any source. Experiment, even within a given recording. You'll be amazed how different digital processes can make even familiar recordings new and more interesting. I've discovered instruments and sounds in old recording I never noticed before.

Did you get anywhere with this? I have a similar problem with a DVD/PVR from Woxter. I've tried different cables and changed many of the settings without luck. I've seen a couple of posts which suggest changing country and sound settings (to PCM), so I'll check them out before I call in a repairman to check out the circuitry around the sound output.

No Sound When Recording

Video camera has built in microphone which is on at all time until you plug in different type of mic then camera is switched to new mic. Audio problem may be on audio head or circuit problem. You can test the system by playing pre-recorded tape to see if it play with the sound and go from there. If it play but does not record sound, you have audio recording problem.
