This is factory level service only, unless you have a lot of camera service experience and the tools to do a proper job. In anycase the manufacture may not sell the parts to any non authorized service person.

Laptop broken screen... plugged in Dell monitor, still doesnt work

You can switch to an external monitor or data projector by two methods. 1. Connect the external monitor to the laptop's video port, power up the external monitor first and the laptop. The video information will automatically switch to the external monitor. 2. If you power up the laptop first then you can switch the video output to the external monitor by pressing the Fn key and one of the Function keys, depending upon your make and model laptop. You can also toggle between the external monitor or both LCD screen plus the external monitor or back to LCD screen only by pressing the Fn key plus one of the function key. Here is a list of key combinations for some of the laptops :- IBM ThinkPad = Fn + F7 HP and Compaq = Fn + F4 Toshiba = Fn + F5 Dell = Fn + F8

Monitor screen lights up for only a second then gives "No Signal Input" error message. I've rebooted both the computer and unplugged the monitor to start to no avail

Have you tried plugging the monitor to a different computer? This will tell you if the monitor is bad if it works correctly in another computer then most likely your video card has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

My studio monitor, after it is at a healthy volume for a while starts to pop and distort.....and when I turn the volume down the monitors puts out a hard hum, pushing the speaker out.....does this sound...

That does indeed sound like a failing capacitor. If you want to repair it yourself look for a 1 or more capacitors with a crack in the top. You will need to replace the capacitor with an identical rated one. Otherwise you will have to replace the monitor. Be extremely careful as capacitors can hold a deadly electric charge even when unplugged and turned off.

Power light flashes monitor does not turn on hear little chirping sound and see a little light flashing inside the back of the monitor

Check and replace burned high voltage ballast transformer and busted backlight inverter...

Too risky to do it yourself without proper knowledge and right tools..

Suggest you bring your monitor to a credible technician to have your parts replace and avail of warranty if there is still..

Much apprreciated if you rate this help..thanks..

DEll monitor E228WFPc turns blank after being on for an hour, then turns blank ever few minutes after that. Monitor Power light stays on contiously

this sounds like an inverter problem. its pretty common with these monitors. If it is still under warranty i would contact dell. if not then you can replace the inverter pretty easily yourself, or have a repair shop do it for you.
the inverter board is available from

hope this helps

SD300 Monitor Problem

This sounds like a cracked LCD screen. If so, it requires replacement. There are many sites available on the web that will do this for you for a fee.

It is also possible to fix it yourself if you can find a replacement screen, and if you are familiar with basic electrical safety (there's a flash capacitor inside your camera that can give you such a ZAP!).

Monitor sounds?

It happened that to me last year. After 2 weeks of cracking sound symptoms, my monitor begun to blackout - no video signal but the indicator light is still available. I checked it inside using my tester, one of its transistor was burned-out. I tried to replace it and its working up to now. Possible cause of this is probably overuse of monitor without proper ventilation causing electronic components to overheat. Try to bring it to an authorized TV repair man in your local area for proper diagnosis - Don't try to fix it yourself. He's the right expert to that.
