I have found the following procedure on the internet to reset:
1. Press and hold both snare 2 and FX2 as you are turning the power on.
2. The system should now boot up. To format drive, hold shift and press F1 which will take you to the project list.
3. Press the page button three times for "FMT DRV" and press OK. Then follow instructions as they appear on the screen.
I don't have one of these units so I can't try it myself.

I'm afraid I cannot possibly reveal my sources, oh alright then:

Perhaps you can mark the problem as solved now?!

That will not work unfortunately, as the issue is with the program being loaded when the system is turned on. He needs to contact roland, as well as I do for the correct button combination to press during startup to bypass loading the most recent project.

YES!!!!
You dont even need to do all that, just hold SNARE2 and FX2 and turn it on, presto. Do what you have to do with your projects as far as backing them up, and FORMAT~!
Thanks a lot Informatica, where did you find this? Someone better than me at research????'
Cant be haha....
Amazing. I could hardly get to bed last night knowing my monitoring/recording unit was down. I actually had to turn down a project last night (Imagine the embarassment) because of this. I see from one of the reviews the the disk has a tendency to fail, but still could not locate exactly where you found the reset info.
Great job again informatica, you are amazing.
Ahhh, wow. That is pretty sad when you find a fix to a major problem on a review page of a retailer.... wow.
