I had the same problem with my dishwasher. After hearing that the motherboard was the problem I decided to take a closer look. There were two capacitors (1000 microfarads, 6.3 volts) that looked a little suspect. The tops of capacitors should be flat...these looked like soda cans that had been left in the freezer. Got on eBay, located the capacitors for roughly $3 and $4 shipping, for approx total of $10. Soldered the two new capacitors into the motherboard and put it back together. As soon as I closed the door, the dishwasher started draining the water. When I ran a Normal cycle it completed successfully. Saved myself over $120!
Is sink drain line clogged? Disconnect drain line at sink tailpiece and lower down to see if water inside dishwasher drains. Call serviceman to clear clog in dishwasher hose, or repair dishwasher pump motor.

Your problem is: whirlpool gold quiet partner iv will not turn on there is no sign of life in it at all.
Usually this indicates that the power is disrupted. First check the breakers. 9 times out of 10 it's a broken, loose or burnt connection in the d/w junction box. It's located underneth the d/w behind the kick plate on the right or center, depending on model. Turn the power off at breaker and remove cover. Take each wire nut off and repair/replce as nessessary. Test before you close it up.
