I received the GE 27GT616 as a gift with no manual or anything. I am trying to plug in a DVD player (or a PS2, I have both), and cannot find the dvd player on the television.
It is possible I am not hooking it up properly, but there are no colors on the back plugs for me to match up, so I am trying different combinations (I believe it's the white and the yellow? I'm not very tech savvy). I have tried playing with input and turning the system on and off, but to no avail. Please help!
The yellow is video and white is audio. On the remote is an input button that will switch the tv to video mode. If you didn't get the remote most stores sell the rca / ge replacement remotes.

If your tv has video in socket (yellow color)and audio in socket(white color),you will connect the dvd player audio video output. it will give give clarity picture. your tv have not av socketyou can connect your dvd player audio video output to converter audio video input. And then connect to converter RFout to tv Rf input(antenna socket)and tune the tv you wlii get picture.
No it's not hidden but don't fret just open your wallet.
You need what is called an RF Modulator. All you do is connect your A/V component ( DVD ) to the modulator's input jacks, then connect the modulator to your TV's antenna/cable input and select channel 3 or 4 operation.
Your local department or super center should have it. If not you can always go to a Radio Shack near you they will have it.
Use a RCA cable put the video in yellow, red, white to the tv.
Use the RCA cable put the video out yellow, red, white to the DVD player.Press the video input 1 or 2 play ur dvd.
Try hooking up the dvd player and turning it on. Then use the setup and add/erase channel feature to look thru all of the channels. On my older GE tv I found that channel 91 was the correct channel for the video input. I saw the logo for the dvd player on this channel. I just added that channel and now it works. Your channel might be different.
The remote will have an input button on it, this will put it in video mode. Many stores sell RCA / GE replacements, just make sure it has the input button.
My GE tv was build in 1997. Is my tv too old for a dvd player?
Please advise.
Thanks
There are no "normal" color-coded plugs in the back of my TV...do I need to buy a different one? Are they hidden somehow?/
