Problems uploading video on Pentax Optio A30.

I have a Pentax Optio A30, and i was wondering if anyone could help me. Whenever i try to run a video on my computer it's only a white screen, and if i try to save it, it comes back with a 'file is a broken or not in a usable format'. If anyone could help me i'd really appreciate it! Thanks.

Go to divx.com and download the free divx codec. I have the Optio A30 and it is a very good camera, with surprisingly good video. Get the codec and you should then be able to both view it on your PC and edit it. Good luck!

If you dont have a codex on your computer (if you're using windows media player) you wont be able to play your videos because this is a requirement for most of the newer pentax.
read your manual for more details

IF MY PENTAX OPTIO A30 is turned on a blank screen

It sounds like you need a new main board. Pentax in Arizona will replace the main board for about $135, or I will replace it for $65. If you just want to get rid of this camera, I also buy all Pentax Option a10, a20, a30, a40 cameras.

Pentax Optio A30 - turns off when I zoom in

This might sound a bit silly, but as I have posted earlier I had a similar problem As soon as he lens came out ready to take pictures it retracted and turned off. Because i haave decided to buy another camera I held the Optio in my right hand and banged it into the palm of my left hand. No great shock to the camera, but hey presto it now works. Not sure if I can rely on it though......what does anyone else think about this?

If you set the date during Green mode is on, then it will be reset. Turn the Green mode off first, then set the date.

PENTAX OPTIO A30 BROKEN LCD

I've seen LCDs forA30 are sold via eBay.
In youtube there's a video of replacing the LCD in other Optio model.

I have the problem and I'm going to try it by myself. I'll let you know if it worked.

Why no sound?

I have a pentax optio 33lf, and indeed it has video, but with no sound. I have no idea why they chose not to build a mic in the camera bat the fact is thet it films, but with no sound. so don't even bother trying to find a solution because ther is none
