According to the manual a hard reset will erase all of the user data on the device and restore it to the factory settings. On the Palm Tungsten E2, you can do this by holding down the power button while pressing the reset button on the back of the device. When you release the power button, you will then confirm the hard reset by following the directions on the screen.

You can try doing a hard reset. A hard reset will delete everything on your device. All your data will be deleted, and formats, preferences and other settings are restored to their factory default settings. for hard reset press reset hole and same time hold power button and release after 10 seconds choose yes when option given to erase all data. Please make sure you have backed up your data prior to hard reset as it will erase all personal information and set everything to factory default

palm tungsten E software missing pleas i neet

you gotta do a hard reset. i had the same problem. go to the palmone website and look up how. make sure you back your stuff up in case you can't get things back. once you perform the hard reset the error should go away.

Also, if you have a new Tungsten E2 and there is no important data, I would hard reset it and then when you sync it, select the old profile of the previous Palm to see if that works.

The new Palm you have, is it a Tungsten E2 as well?

The profiles don't always carry over between different models.
