Question about Samsung PCH521R 52" Rear Projection Television

My samsung projection television model pch521r wont stay on

When i turn the tv on it comes on fine but only stays on for about 5 minutes and turns itself off and it wont come back on unless i unplug and plug it back in and it only stays on for about 5 minutes at a time

I can turn my tv off for 5 to 10 minutes and it will work for up to 1/2 hour to 1 hour. Then it will shut down again until I let it cool off again. It is getting progressively worse.

When the set does come on do you notice any thing odd in the picture or sound of the set.

you need to general service the whole unit. this will include re-soldering and changing some defective components from the board, which has been damaged through using from past years. my advice is to have a quotation from service tech and then think about repairing it..if it is better to buy a new one..

When I turn the TV on after about 2-5 minutes it just shuts off. It started doing that and turning itself back on and now it just stays off. The picture and sound are fine but can't get it to stay on.

My TV pictures turns black afetr a few hours but I still can hear sound perfectly!!!

It sounds like your rptv lamp is going out. If this is an older DLP this is most likely the cause. You can get a replacement at www.laptopsforless.com part number BP96-00224J for $151. If the tv is still under warranty, I would have them do it, otherwise replace it yourself. If so here is a link to give you step by step instruction. Please give me a good rating. ;-)

52" rear projection Samsung Tantus Tv Timer Problem Hi can someone plz help... my parents 52" rear projection Samsung Tantus Tv is quite old and has undergone several surgeries to the circuit board before but she's still kicking great! There is only one problem though... next to the power button on the bottom the timer light is permanetly lite red and the tv doesn't turn on! There is no button on the remote that says timer or anything. So I'm pretty lost on what next to do.

Pinched image on a 30" samsung tantus I have a 30" samsung tantus HDTV that is pinching the image horizontally on the right and left sides. It started out somewhat gradually - i.e. turn the TV on, see the pinched image, then turn it off then on again and the image would be fine. Sometimes it wouldn't do it at all. Now, though, it seems to be permanent. It does it not matter what the input - cable, DVD or video game.
