Question about Panasonic CT-32SL15 32" TV

Blurry Picture got blurry. Read some good stuff here and opened the back. I notice that the entire thingy attached to the tube slipped. The white attachments to the tube are offset like the thing slipped 3/4 inch on one side. What hope do I have of fixing it? I have rubber lineman's gloves... do I just jerk back into place?

Well, I just heard a click while adjusting video (via remote) and everything went clear... blur went away ... now the screen goes dark and colors all washed out and bled together. goes in and out, when scene darkness changes colors get more, then less washed out.

OK... got the service manual settings and adjusted the "service menu" ... Set looks good as new... but I am confused why it went blurry... and a click noise and all is well again...

Should I wonder why the "yoke" is misplaced? Does it make sense that the yoke shows all the signs of having MOVED and yet I have a perfectly good picture?

Well, the skintones are cartoonish... faces seem to have no definition. Could that be related to the yoke slipping?

You may have had a short in the picture tube. When you heard the click the short may have burned itself out. If this is the case it may happen again OR never again? The yoke shouldn't have slipped. They're either bonded or clamped the the neck of the picture tube. All the I've ever seen that have moved from their proper position have messed up the color convergence and the purity of the color. Since your colors are washed out and the picture is dark or gets light and dark, you probably have a bad screen control which is an integral part of the high voltage transformer (flyback transformer). The screen AND focus control are both tied together inside the flyback. This could explain the blurry picture you had. Since these two controls are part of each other this is probably where your problem lies. If so, the flyback needs to be replaced.
I've seen this happen in a number of TV's. You need to have the set checked out by a tech.

I have a Toshiba 65H82 and at first the picture was blurry but would clear up after about 10 mins now the picture just stays blurry. Can you tell me what the problem could be and if it is worth fixing it?...

Hi,
Try adjusting the focus block this requires opening the back and front bezel of the TV. If it doesn't clear up after adjustment attempts then the liquid coolant inside each of the tubes need to be emptied and refilled with new coolant. Over time the coolant gets cloudy and can cause a blurry image with a white sheen. Contact me at the link below so I can help you further.....if this helps please rate:-)

Thank you:-)

Sony Trinitron kv-27HFR blurry

the picture tube is gone.
i repaired 150 sony xbr and kv series with that problem.sony has a single gun not three and has a great pix,but burn out faster.
there is a main screen control that you can adjust ,but the tube is gone.
on the back of the crt there is 3 gun drives r g b .
turn the color all the way down so it is black and white.
if there is a green ore purple tint, one gun is out of balance.
ajdusting the r g b controls so that black and white is normal is what you want to do.
the crt board has the screen bias voltage 800volts on it so be very careful and use an insulated screwdriver to adjust the drive controls.

Blurry Picture

I too had the same problem where my HT30744 TV would lose its color or picture would get blurry. My mom's HT32744 would have the same problem too. They both are refurbished models bought at Value City Dept store. If I gave the cabinet a good hit it would mostly fix the color, but it could also make the picture go fuzzy too, a clear sign of just a loose connection somewhere.

So after my wife telling me she was sick of this almost 2 year problem and she was going to buy a new TV on the weekend, I figured I had nothing to lose. So I took the rear cabinet off, unseated the card mounted on the picture tube, applied a little dielectric grease on the connector on the card and reseated the card, removed, re-greased and reattached the card. I have had no problem with either my or mom's which I did the same to since! This is an easy fix that anyone can do. The hardest part is moving the TV and reassembling the rear cabinet. Do not pull the cabinet back out more than you have to, to ease the reassembly of it.

Hitachi 50UX22B

Look inside the lens while the set is on. If you see things floating around inside the glass, the fluid will need to be changed inside of each tube. I will post a link on how this is done if this is a Magnavox TV set. Good luck

Manufactured January 1997 - Blurry white letters

Your TV is nearly 10 years old. Over a period of time, the Picture tube has become weak! (Technically, the Electron Emmissions from the Electron Heater Element has become reduced) Permanent solution is to replace it, but the cost will be prohibitive. Best is to get a new TV. Otherwise, take it into a Technician Shop, who will recondition it for a modest fee.

Blurry tv

Sounds like theres a leaky capacitor in the screen drive circuit. I have seen this problem also be a gassy crt but was able to clean off the grids of the CRT with a crt/rejuvinator. It happens because of low emmissions in the tube and when white is on thats a mix of all the colors, so the tube works harder. I bet when you whatch a movie and the scene changes suddenly to a white or brite scene the pic looks a little washed out. If this is not the case then I aggree with the Pravin and try it on another TV just to be sure .. This is not a repair for a consumer to do, though however it is only a three year old set you stated, so there should be life left in the tube, so im kinda thinking a capacitor is bad. Seek out a yechnician to check this out for you as a TV is not a place to see it you can fix it or to exoeeriment with. Good Luck
