What are lions"?"

In relation to your Mac, the "Lion" is the Operating System as part of the OS X (10) series and was the 7th released. This was then called OS X 10.7 Lion, released on July 20th 2011. Later, there was OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion released as the 8th series OS X.

10.7 carried with it the iCloud integration as Apple moved from MobileMe to this new "cloud technology" and the OS was the first to never be sold in Disc form. It was only available from the App Store as an electronic download and for a short time on USB. All OS X versions after 10.6 were all downloadable via the Mac App Store.

So the Lion is just the name of the Operating System on the Mac! It's like a car that's called a Jaguar, but this is in relation to the Software the computer is running!

Canon mf 4018

Hello - Canon does not provide a Mac driver that supports scanning, BUT if you have:

An Intel Mac

and
OS 10.5 (Leopard) or later (including snow leopard, lion, mountain lion and even mavericks)
there IS a fix: Just download the free Vuescan software for Mac, then use it to scan with the MF4018.

Go to: http://www.hamrick.com
Download Vuescan for Mac OS X

Install it, and start the application. It will recognize any scanners attached.
NOTE: If Vuescan asks you to identify your printer, you will not see the MF4018 listed. Choose the MF4010 instead - the 4010 and the 4018 use the same drivers.

3095's won't work with mac lion

The Brother HL-3095CW is a color laser printer that is not natively compatible with Mac OS X Lion.
However, there are a few ways to get the printer to work with your Mac:
  • Download and install the Brother printer driver for Mac OS X Lion from the Brother website.
  • Use the built-in AirPrint feature in Mac OS X Lion to print wirelessly to the Brother HL-3095CW.
  • Use a third-party software such as Gutenprint or CUPS to add support for the printer to your Mac.
  • Use a print server to connect the printer to your network and make it available to your Mac.
It's important to note that this printer was released in 2009 and Brother's support for this device and Mac Lion will be limited. It's recommended to check Brother's website to see if the printer model is compatible with the latest Mac OS version and the support for the printer model.
If you continue to have issues with getting the Brother HL-3095CW to work with your Mac, it would be best to contact Brother technical support for further assistance.
