Global map 5200c loading problems- navionics platinum hot maps

I just purchased the 2009 navionics platinum hot maps for my lowrance 5200c global maps and nothing happens when i install sd card. In the choose map drop down there is not a selection for navionics maps. I am running the 2.4.0 update. Does anyone know why i cant get this card to work. Navionics says my unit is compatibal.

I had the same problem with my handheld Lowrance Hunt C. After installing the card and locking it in place, I had to slide the card "out" toward the locking mechanism. It barely moves, but worked after that. Whenever I load the card, I now slide it out and it works every time.

Lowrance 5200c wont display Navionics map.

Hi,

Please test the backup sd card on another GPS if possible to see if the zoomed-in section of the map file shows up or not. If it shows, then you'd need to send in your lowrance gps for repair from the water damage.

Thank you.

How do I get my lake map chip to come on

With your card in your unit follow these steps it should accomplish letting you view your map data.
push MENU twice
Highlight CHART push ENTER
Highlight CHART DATA push ENTER
Highlight LOWRANCE push ENTER.
You will note there is an option for Lowrance and Navionics, if you select Navionics you will see a distinct difference in the way the base map displays on your unit.
Hope this helps.

Navionics maps don't seem to work on my lowrance elite 5 chirp

In your menu under CHARTS there is a choice for either LOWRANCE or NAVIONICS. Select NAVIONICS and you should be able to see your chart maps.

My global map 5200c curser is blinking a question mark

That question mark means the GPS antenna cannot get a satellite fix for the GPS to triangulate your position.
Be sure there is no aluminum above your antenna. This will block the gps signal. Also be sure your GPS antenna is at least 24" or more away from any other electronics The electromagnetic field electronics emit will disrupt the GPS signal coming to your antenna.

Loading Maps

MapCreate Topo does not have lake maps. There are 'some' maps on Lowrance's web site (Free Enhanced Lake Maps) but you may need to purchase lake maps on SD cards for the area you're interested in.

Lowrance not reading navionic

Make sure that the 5200c is set to read the Navionic card. You can set that under Map Data.
