I am hoping someone can provide some assistance. I have a SONY TRV22E and it will play back videos but when I set it to Camera mode to do filming - The LCD is all Black and I cant see through the eye sight too. I have all the menu functions but not cant see what I am aiming my camera at (and yes I do have the lens cap off :-))
If you can provide any assistance it would be greatly appreciated

Re: Problem with DVRTVR22E
First check the iris of the camera if it is opening, you will see this when you look inside the lens of the camera when you turn on and off the switch at camera mode if the iris is opening....if the iris is ok the second problem may occurs of your camera is the ccd image sensor...

did you check your camera any where and how you find out ccd faulty?if there is no picture on camera mode then may be ccd fautly but some time there is one shutter in side lens block may allso cause of same problem.if this shutter not open picture not come on camera mode.
it will confirm by opening your camera as well lens block to find where is the problem if you not know how to open that please take your set to near sony service centre.other wise may more problem if you know how to open.
This camera and several like it have had problems with the CCD imager failing which causes this symptom. Please follow this link and send your camera in to the Sony Laredo facility for a free, one time repair.
Sony is well aware of this issue.
I called Sony support center in Sweden (my home country). They told me that it's probably a failure in CCD-ship. In such a case, Sony takes the fully responsibility and will repair it without any fee. You only need to pay for one way mail transport.
