Question about Braun Syncro 7680 Electric Shaver

5 Answers

Charging stand Yesterday, after about 2 years of use, when I returned my shaver to the charging stand and pushed down the top, charging part, into the shaver it would not stay down. I tried unplugging the shaver completely in an effort to reset it, cleaned the contacts, pushed the blue button on top of the charging portion, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas what's wrong or how to fix it? I've really enjoyed this shaver so far and would hate to have to give it up. Thanks.

I just had the same problem, where the top of the charger would not stay down. I tried a spring clamp to keep it in place, and that works like a charm! Try it!

Shaver Outlet makes the stand available separately, significantly cheaper than if bought from Braun. As of this writing, it's available for $18.99.

I had this same problem 2 years after I bought this razor. Guess what it's been 2 years since I took it in for repair and it's just broke again. You can either fix the base or if you bought it at a place like Costco try and take it back.

Hello i have phillips cool skin shaver cant remember proper model of it but its the one with stand charge which fills up shaver with this skin balm and also there i small stand charger as well and none of...

Hi pi finch,

Below are some troubleshooting steps for this issue. If you have any questions or need additional assistance, Consumer Care can be reached at 1-800-243-3050.
Question Why does the shaver not charge when I place it in the refill & charge station? Answer
  • The adapter has not been properly inserted in the wall outlet
  • the small plug has not been inserted properly in the refill & charge station.
  • There is no electric contact between the refill & charge station and the shaver because the shaver has not been placed properly in the station. First put the bottom of the shaver in the station. Then push the shaver backward till it locks into position with a click. The indication lights on the shaver and the station light up to signal that there is proper contact between shaver and station.
  • There is no electric contact between the refill & charge station and the shaver because the contact strips are dirty. Clean the strips with a damp cloth.
Hope this helps. If so, let me know by rating this solution.

Can't get the 7526 cleaning arm to stay down on the shaver for charging, cleaning, etc. Is there a sequence e.g. hold the arm down then select a cycle, or select then push down? What is the blue button...

The locking mechanism in the arm is broken. This is a common problem with your model. To repair it you will need to purchase a replacement part. You will find the part at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

If repairing your existing clean and charge machine is not an option, you will find the entire machine available at the link below

Braun 5790 leaks and floods counter when charging/cleaning!

I figured out the problem for my Clean & Renew unit. Mine is 2 years old. About 3 months ago, I cleaned the buildup of whisker material from the TOP of the drain port [Left Side as you look at the unit] If you take out the cleaning solution cartridge and turn the unit upside down, you see the pump and the return ports. The return port is the smaller of the two. I found that there was a mass of dried whiskers in a few clumps clogging the return port. These clumps must have come loose and got caught within the drain port. I had noticed when I had the leaking problem I could hear bubbling just after the pump ran and the shaver turned off. I removed the clumps of whiskers and no more bubbling sounds and NO MORE LEAKS. My guess is that the fluid was draining back into the intake area and leaking on top of the cartridge. Hope this helps

I HAD PURCHASED A HQ8140 SHAVER 1 YEAR 9 MONTHS

This problem can be caused by a malfunctioning printed circuit board inside the shaver. This usually can be fixed by fully discharging the battery then fully charging it or disconnecting the battery then reconnecting it (if possible, most shavers has their batteries soldered-in).

Hi, My braun bs 5301 does not lock my braun 7630 shaver in anymore. at the top where it clicks into the bottom of the shaver, its not actually clicking in and now it doesnt charge or clean unless i hold it...

While holding the neck, pull up hard on the charging piece with the blue button.... You will not break it, it will go right back in after...

DO NOT try to remove the whole neck, just the button piece will come up, an inch or two (NOT OUT COMPLETLY) The wire will only allow you to pull it up 1"-2" so dont try to remove it....

Then look inside and you can see a spring, it's not attached to anything it's just resting in a hole. Pull it out and then push the top charging piece back down till it clicks in...

Now it will stay down on its own... I had the same problem and this work around solved it.
