Sony WEGA KV-36HS500

The pictures and tv worked fine until we moved. now when i turn it on, there is no sound, and a horazontal line in the middle of the black screen, it intensifies and then shuts off. reminds me of a sunset, can you help?

what or where is the vertical ic or flyback transformer? should i just replace the circit board?

You may have cracked the circuit board when moving , sounds like a bad vertical circuit. look for bad connections around vertical ic or flyback transformer

Turn on tv went black left line in middle horazontal

vertical circuit is out, some component failed. turn it on and when the line comes on hit the top of the case with the flat of your hand, if the line fluctuates or goes away you have a bad solder connection on the circuit board. if it doesn't make any difference when you smack it then something has failed completely. no user repairable parts inside.

The TV is 6 years old and was working fine until I turned it on today. There is no picture. Just a blinking Stand-by led. The manual just says "may need service". Is there something I can try at home?...

My Sony kv-32hs240 turns on and after one hour

Sounds like you've got a short in your house electrical lines. Try using a surge protector (AKA power strip) between the power cord and wall outlet. If you've already got a surge protector, try replacing it.

No picture or sound

6 blinks usually means a loss of the horizontal signal. This can be as simple as a bad capacitor or jungle IC. I'll look up your specific model, but do you intend to repair this yourself? If so, please update this and I'll provide additional details and instructions.

My KV-36HS500 won't turn on it sounds like it wants to,but no picture,and standby light flashes 7 times,pauses and flashes 7 times again

The 7 blinks indicate that the horizontal deflection has stopped. This can be because the horizontal output transistor has shorted (common) or other defecive parts. If you are familiar with working inside of sets where potentially dangerous high voltages exist and can solder, let me know and additional details and instructions will be provided.

Sony wega trinitron won't turn on

Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505

Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.

and some times the eprom ic is fulty ...

try to unplug your tv from the main power for 5 hours then press the power button and keep pressing for 7 seconds then release ,if this do not work ,you should take your tv to a qualified person

Tv will work for 10min. or hrs. then cuts off kv-36hs500

it blinked 6x. I unpluged the tv for 12 hrs. and it is fine. trouble shooting said it was horizontal hold overload.

Sounds like a problem with the vertical circuit. If yuo can solder and are comfortable with working inside the set, you may be able to repair this.
