How can I program a Uniden scanner for the 849.0125-868.9875 MHz

Attempting to listen to local police department on the 854 - 858 MHz
frequency. Scanner will not receive these transmissions.

Will it receive any frequencies at all? Are you trying to listen to a trunked radio system on 800 MHz?

Sounds like you're trying to receive trunked systems on a conventional scanner. Sorry, but it won't work. If your area is using trunking, you will need a different scanner. You might want to visit www.ScannerMaster.com for descriptions of current scanner models.

I was given a uniden police scanner and I need to know the frequencies and how to get the static out. . Thank you . Rhonda Hansen

First thing to try is to change the "squelch" setting. If you squelch is set wrong, you will hear static all the time and the scanner may not scan. Turn the squelch until you no longer hear the static and the scanner scans.

I have a Uniden Bearcat 30 Channel 10 Band Radio Scanner how do I program it when I put in the number it shows error

The ERROR message usually indicates that you've tried to program a frequency outside the scanner's tuning range. The BC60XLT top tuning range is the 512 MHz band, so you cannot tune any 800 MHz frequencies. For further information you can download and print the factory manual, at no cost, here:

http://www.uniden.com/pdf/BC60XLTom.pdf

I cant listen to the police

First, make sure that you have the correct frequency for your local police. You can find a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area by visiting:
www.Reference.com

Program the frequency or frequencies using the instructions in the scanner's operating manual. and you should be all set. If you need the manual, you can download and print it, at no cost, here:
http://www.uniden.com/pdf/BC60XLT-1om.pdf

NOTE: If the frequency database shows that your local police are using a trunked system, you will not be able to monitor them using the BC60XLT-1. Trunked systems require a trunking scanner. Many law enforcement agencies are also using digital systems for their communications. If that's the case in your area you'll need a scanner capable of monitoring APCO-25 digital transmissions.

How do you change/enter a frequency? im trying to listen the local police radio but i dont know how to work this scanner.

The BC95XLT is fairly simple to program, and you can find detailed instructions in the factory manual which you can download and print here at no cost:

I have a bc350c 800 mhz and cant get nothing but static how to i get the police channels to work

Try tuning known frequencies, such as the NOAA weather channels, to verify the working condition of your scanner. If it picks them up, you don't have your local police system/frequencies programmed properly. If there's no reception, even on NOAA, you have an antenna or receiver problem that may need professional attention.

In case you need it, you can download/print the manual for your scanner here:
