Re: US ROBOTICS 9106- Reset not working. Bridge mode
NOTE: To reset the gateway, insert a pin or paperclip to push the reset button. This will restart the gateway. If you press this button for more than 5 seconds, it will then reset the gateway’s configuration to the factory defaults.
The following default settings are present when setting up the gateway for the first time.
LAN port IP address: 192.168.1.1 WAN connection type: bridging WAN ATM PVC encapsulation: LLC Local administrator account name: admin Local administrator account password: admin Local non-administrator account name: user Local non-administrator account password: user Remote WAN access: disabled Remote WAN access account name: support Remote WAN access account password: support NAT and Firewall: disabled dhcp server on LAN interface: enabled WAN IP address: none
Please make sure you are connected with a cat5 cable to one of the lan ports and that you enter "http://192.168.1.1"
(don't forget the "http://" it's important).
Also set your network card to dhcp so it will get its IP from the gateway.
If that doesn't work I would have to say there is a mechanical problem with the unit (repair or replace)
Hope that helps...

Read the manual!
The Bridge mode on stereo amplifiers is often misunderstood relating to actual operation and usage. In basic terms, when a 2-channel amplifier is operated in the Bridge mode, it is converted into a single-channel unit with a power rating equal to the sum of the power rating for each channel, at a load of twice that of the single- channel rating. For example, the CPX 1500 is rated at 750 watts RMS per channel into 2 ohms. The Bridge rating is 1500 watts RMS into 4 ohms (minimum load). Bridge mode operation is accomplished by placing the MODE switch in the BRIDGE position, using only the BRIDGE Speakon connector or the red binding posts for the output, and using the CHANNEL A input. All CHANNEL B input func-tions are defeated and serve no purpose now. Bridge mode operation can be used to drive sound distribution systems in very large public address applications. Another common use for the Bridge mode is in subwoofer applications where very high power levels are required to reproduce extremely low frequencies with ade- quate headroom. Such enclosures usually contain 2 or 4 loudspeakers to handle the power levels involved. For Bridge mode usage, the enclosure impedance must be 4 or 8 ohms. Never below 4 ohms.

Assigns a bridge group to the subinterface.
Note When the bridge-group command is

automatically enabled, and cannot be
disabled. If you disable these commands
you may experience an interruption in
wireless device communication.
Resetting modem to Factory Defaults
Using the tip of a ballpoint pen or unfolded paperclip, press and hold the Reset button located on the bottom of the router. The pwr LED will blink red once, indicating that the reset has begun.
Continue depressing the Reset button for four seconds or until the pwr LED begins to blink alternating red-to-green.

Reset your modem.
There is a reset button on the back.
Push it in and hold it down for thirty seconds with the modem on.
Log into the modem at 192.168.1.1 (admin/password=username/password)
You will need to change the modems administration username/password,
doesn't matter what to since we'll make it unreachable soon enough.
On the connection overview page goto configuration.
Go to DHCP configuration and switch the DHCP server off.
Then goto configuration and click on VC configuration.
All but the first VC should be disabled.
Click on the edit or configure button next to the first and enabled VC.
Switch from either DHCP or PPPoE to Bridge.
At the bottom of the screen click on set VC.
Done.
Your modem is now in 'full bridge' mode and will need to be reset again to get it out.
you can't set teh modem to bridge mode, however, you can set the router to bridge.
The linksys should have bridge mode configuration in the uer guide.
connected the 2 router together
configure the IP address of the liksys to be inthe same subnet as the moem, but out of the range of the DHCP of the modem. ie. DHCP address 192.168.0.2 through 192.169.0.100, the linksys should have the IP address as 192.168.0.200
disable the DHCP on the linksys
setup the wirless just the way you would if ti was the modem.
connect from the modem LAN port to the LAN port on thelinksys. leave the WAN port open.
You could install Router Techs firmware on your modem www.routertech.org and it would give you the option to put the modem in full bridge mode. However I'm not sure the hardware on the modem fully supports it. You might have to use half bridge mode and let your router do the DHCP.
