This is a sure sign in CRT screens that it is on it's last hours of life. I saw this in one of my customer's screens and I told him it was probably dying, it died the next day. You could try opening the menu and hitting degausse or whatever it's called. That helps sometimes, but if this is doing this repeatedly, it means your screen is dying.

Hi we have a compaq 7550 screen that when turned on has a red sheen over the whole screen. Any solutions or is it ready to throw away. thanks

You may try messing with the settings on the monitor. The menu buttons are usually on the front. Try to find something that deals with the color tones of the monitor. If messing with these settings doesn't fix your problem, then unfortunately, it is probably time to throw it out.

My speakers on my compaq 7550 have no power. when you turn on the sound, the green light is not lit up, so they are not getting power.

Have you checked the Power supply adaptor and the power cord plugs? If all are okay, then the power supply adaptor is the problem. Change the power supply and it should work.

Compaq 7750. Can I attach speakers to this model? I was given it but it came without speakers

Compaq FS 7550 has no built-in speakers. However, the FS7550 monitor comes with a pair of detachable, independently powered JBL Platinum Series speakers, which can be mounted on sides on the monitor.

Screen on 7550 is upside down

there is a Windows XP setting to invert the picture (I guess it is if you hang the CRT upside down from the ceiling). I don't remember the key presses needed, but check under Properties for the CRT

Diaplay Letters not cleard

Open your monitor's back cover and on the circuit laid underneath the CRT you will find a big black object. Check it, there will be two knobs having H- focus and V- focus, control them and your CRT will focus correctly. If still problem persists on the CRT there is a white box with three control knobs, adjust them.

Power button on monitor

Looks like a loose contact in the button assembly. You will just need to get the button assembly replaced. Can be done at any computer service shop.
