Question about Acer Aspire 5002WLMi Notebook

Loud Fan My acer aspire 5002 laptop fan is really loud and annoying. I was wondering if there was anyway to quieten it down, also it stays on almost all the time even if i'm not doing very much. I thought maybe it needs to be lubricated but i'm not sure exactly how to remove it.

Hi, I am afraid that your problem is common to this laptop brand/model. A reason is that it uses AMD Turion64 with reported nominal operating temp at ~50.0?c. At ~55.0? the CPU fan will kick in until the temperature stabilizes which unfortunately takes a long time due to the nature of the enclosed spaces in a laptop. Also lubrication will help improve the fan but will not solve the noise nor the turning on quickly, other than it's a complicated and tedious job opening the unit. Other users of the same model reports positive results by lowering the supply voltage of your process. The process is called "undervolting" and best described in Mr. Dan Zhang's guide at http://www.laptoplogic.com/resources/guides/38/1/1/ and tried at http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=20249. sounds like the machine is overheating, remove the case and clean out the fan and surrounding area.

Still got the dam noise!!!! Why does my Acer laptop sound like it's taking off ! There is a whirring noise form underneath on the back left, i thought it might be the fan but it starts as soon as i turn it...

You may need to either clean the fan or replace it.
Fans are on offer via ebay or your local PC repair shop.

I have an Acer Aspire 5735Z. The cooling fan works intermittently. I am not sure if I need a new fan, or the problem could be more serious. Thanks for any help. [email protected]

sometimes the fan races if you like, sounds loud, then when its cooled the comp down, it stops or goes slowly, until comp gets hot again. hope this helps, make sure you always rest the computer on a hard solid surface never a soft 1 like beds or cushions ect.

My Acer Aspire One AOA150 's fan is very loud and warm

I'd suggest that you carefully pull the base of your Acer apart - taking out the screw, and keeping track of them. See if your fan is dirty - I have an Acer as well, and if it's dirty, it get loud, and HOT!

A quick cleaning does wonders!

CPU Fan

depending on the size of the fan you can probably remove it and take it to your local computer store and have them get you a better one of the same size.

Acer 5002 laptop shutoff randomly

Have your DVD Rom checked..I had a similar problem XP not loadin... It was because of compatibility of the rom... like wise it could be a mother board problem..
have it checked up by an acer service person

"Fn" keys not working Sony Vaio question--after completely wiping the hard drive and reloading everything the blue/purple Fn (function) key no longer work. I can't adjust the volume, mute, switch to a LCD, or any others. I had to do a system restore and noticed that now some of the special keys don?t function any more (? $) . The keyboard device identified in the control panel is Standard 101/102 key Microsoft PS/2, however it has an ACER Aspire 5005WLMi 88-89 key type in the notebook. Any advice?

my acer aspire one has a it's display is narrowed i just bought a acer aspire one and from the moment i opened it the display won't fit all in the screen,atwo 2inches part of the monitor is blackandond 2 inches from the lower part zoomes zooms the opper two inches from the upper side of the display, it's strange cause in that six inch leleft of the display the resolution is normal and by movig the pointer at the edge of the screen the display slides and shows me the rest of the display, i know that i didn't explained myself well but it's a very weired problem. should i put a video on youtube of the problem so everybody could see it and understand better what i meant?
