Purchased ASKO Washer WL6511XXLP and Gas Dryer with pedestals, 12/01/09. It threw a drum paddle during 2nd. wash cycle. Damaged several articles of clothing.
ASKO replaced the paddle 2/19/09 after a lot of phone calls (lip service from the ASKO 800 #). They claimed the part had to come from Sweden (reason for delay).
Washer threw another drum paddle during 4th. wash cycle. Damaged several more articles of clothing. We have made no claim for the damaged clothing, the retailer has been cooperative.

ASKO has promised to replace the washer after the retailer we purchased the washer from, strongly encouraged them to do so. We are still without a washer (03/23/09). My wife and I are retired, I am 76. Point being; we do not abuse washing machines and we don't like going to a launder-mat.
I know this is not the venue to address this problem, but am at my wits end.

After machine is unbalanced and shuts off how do i reset machine

For most washers, just close the lid. When the washer is unbalanced open the lid, rearrange the clothes and shut the lid. Washer will start spinning again.

My Asko washer model number WL6511XXLPP will not spin it is draining what's the problem

Hi,

All front load unit must lock the door and drain all the water prior to spinning. If your filter inside the drain pump is clogged this unit will not spin. At the bottom of the washer is a door, open this door and unscrew the plastic cap. *This is the lowest spot on the washer, so this will hold water, be prepared for water* After you clean this out, run a rinse only cycle and re-test unit, if the unit fails to pump out completely, replace the pump. Good Luck

Asko WCAM1812 makes noise when draining

I recently had this same problem. There is a spinning wheel inside the pump that has likely detached from the motor. Upon removing the back of the unit, you will see a water pump on the bottom left of the unit. There are three screws attaching the pump to the rest of the assembly, remove the screws and detach the motor, out should pop out a red spinning wheel. I Gorilla glued mine back on, and it sounds better than before the grinding noise.

Machine won't spin

Hi, can you start the unit without any clothes in it, let it fill with water as usual and then observe if it tumbles in both directions during the wash cycle ? ( I don't mean the entire cycle, just long enough to insure it rotates in both direction ). Then turn it to drain and insure it drains completely, observe the spin cycle if you can and report if it only spins in one direction slowly. This will go a long way in diagnosing your Asko washer. Let me know what you find. If it only goes one way, the motor needs new brushes and possibly a complete motor if the armiture is damaged. Good luck. Macmarkus :)

My Asko washer does not complete the wash cycle. It does not rinse the clothes.

Hi, With the Asko there are several possible things that can interupt the cycle either during wash or drain/spin. Have you checked the pump insert/button trap for debris or obstruction of any kind ? ( below main door to the left ) Are you using "he" ( lo-sudsing ) detergent ? Does the machine provide any error code, i.e. If it's a mechanical timer model does it stop at "C" or "S" or if electronic a symbol in the display ? Will it complete a cycle without any items in the basket ( empty ) ? Will the unit rorate in both directions and will it spin if you try both parts of that specific cycle ? This will help determine if the problem is with the drive motor brushes. Let me know, any answer you can provide here will put us closer to a solution to your washer problem. If you could confirm the model number that would be very helpful too. Thanks and good luck, I will try and reply as soon as I see you've posted a response. Macmarkus :)

I have an asko 11505 clothes washer. For some reason, it is not going through all of the spinning cycle, it spins for a short time, then stops abrutely. I cleaned the coin stop, cleaned out all water...

My Asko 11505 washer fills only a little water then shuts off. If I drain the washer with the drain hose from under the machine, then the machine will start up and fill enough water to fill the hose again, then shut off.

Knocking in washer

Hi,
Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

good luck.........

Noise during spin cycles

GE WPXH214ACC Washer drum makes loud noise when spinning sometimes. We've had it since 2005 & never had this happen before. Washer is level, must stop & redistribute clothes to correct. Just started happening now.
