My guess is that your system is not breathing well and overheating. Open your case and clean it thoroughly, and make sure the fan works. If your not comfortable doing this a real good place to go for service is www.playstationclinic.com

me too. i get this problem . i have a wii dance pad that has a gamecube connector , and i guess the DDR doesn't detect it as a dance pad , but as a gamecube controller . so think , you can't hold the nunchuck and the gamecube controller at the same time . so i guess we need a wireless dance pad for the nunchuck to work as well .
Some extra peripherals are not compatible with the new, slimmer 360, as it contains a different motherboard and other various changes. Also, see if there is an update required for the game, which would potentially allow the system to recognize your game pad.
I had the same problem and found the solution: plug it in the first slot (closer to power switch) so that the mat gets linked to the first player^^ (took me a while though...)
I had same problem..if u have a dance pad with foam inserts....take out the insert and try to start up without them....the problem we had is one of the inserts was putting pressure on one of the buttons preventing xbox from reading pad...if u don't have inserts one of your buttons is sticking...give it a shake and try again....we fixed ours by simply rearranging the inserts...hope this was helpful
You must have the DDR CD-Rom to play the game. Mats are sold separately without the disk to allow for multiplayer support. These units cannot be used by themselves without software.
Make sure that the dance pad is connected to the first player port (the port closest to the front of the wii). We had this same problem and we had it plugged into the 4th player port accidentally.
Hi. I just had this problem myself. I called support. You need to make sure that the mat is plugged into the round outlet on the wii with the one dot above it, or the player 1 terminal. Otherwise, the mat will be read as a player 2 mat and it won't work when the songs play.
