Question about HP Officejet 6310 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Scanning how do I scan a document to my computer. when i depress scan, the printer's response is to refer to device documentation that there are no scan options. I do not have the printer manual.

I had the same problem. My issue was that the All in 1 software was not starting up upon boot (lower right hand side of Windows screen). Once I fixed that, the problem is resolved.

Many issues are caused when the HP All-in-One is connected to the computer using a USB cable before the HP All-in-One software is installed on the computer. If you connected the HP All-in-One to your computer before the software installation screen prompts you to do so, you must follow these steps: Troubleshooting common setup issues 1. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer. 2. Uninstall the software (if you have already installed it). 3. Restart your computer. 4. Turn off the HP All-in-One, wait one minute, then restart it. 5. Reinstall the HP All-in-One software. CAUTION: Do not connect the USB cable to the computer until prompted by the software installation screen.

Hi old novii, sorry to but in but I had bigmountain on chat.

Hi again Bigmountain, pls download the patch here. If that still does not work uninstall as we have discussed and download/install the new drivers/installers here. So even if your CD is not working, it should still go through with the installation. Please, pls follow installations/on screen instructions.

Hope this be of additional help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Kindly install the scanner software for printer the driver software cd just re install it will install the scanner software and make sure in device manger there is not other usb device listed if it is there just remove it. And refresh it in will automatically install the driver.

For normal scanning you can choose the option of Scanners and Cameras wizard in control panel. But it is better if you have software disk of printer because it contains more option.

You need to have it connected to a computer with the scan software running. The scan options are in the computer. It tells what type of document to scan, how to save it, JPG, PDF, etc. and where to send the scanned image.

In order to scan, you need to be connected to your computer with HP scanning software running. No scan options means it needs to know where to scan to, what format to save in, and what to do with the scanned image. If you want to copy, you just copy, but scanning requires software on your computer.

No scan options say refer to device documention to trouble shoot

Try ths:
This happens mainly when you try to scan from the printer ;
Always try to scan from HP solution center but still here is the resolution:
Open Hp Solution center
Click on Settings
Click on scn settings
click on Scan to Setup
Select all the option available to updrade the Front panel menu list and click on ADD
Click on Update;
Restart the computer and the printer and try to scan.
It should resolve the issue.

you need an application software to scan a document first, install one from your manufacturer's CD and follw the direction carefully, or if your computer recognizes

go to start-program-accesories-then scanner and camera, see if your computer recognizes your scanner.

Hi bigmountain - I'll tell you what. First off are you sure all the software is installed? I don't know how long you've had it. (Sorry, I have to ask these things). Second, I could tell you how to do the things you want to do or send you a link to download the manual. Much easier with pictures. If something's not working after you're sure your doing it right we can take it from there. How does that sound. I'll even throw in the link for you're software in case you don't have it and it not sure if everything's instatalled.

Here's the link for both. Just choose your operating system and you can download the manual (it moght be on the list in the left) and the HP full package software.
