SOURCE: When the DeWALT DE9118 charger

It sounds like you need a new charger I'm afraid. If you want to double check though, take the housing apart (4x security torx screws in the underside corners) and check the little glass fuse on the pcb. If either main fuse or glass one is blown you have a problem with the board and it's not worth repairing. If both fuses are ok I would suggest you might have a dry solder or broken leg on one of the pcb components. You could possibly resolder it if you can find it and it has enough contact left.

Need resistance for diode d23 for DeWalt dw9116 charger

Diodes do not have a resistance. They have a forward bias current and a reverse voltage limit. There should be a number on the device for a google x-reference.

Charger for dewalt 18volt drill burned out a diode need to know what to replace it with to burned out to tell ??

I had to replace that on one of mine. It is not a regular diode. P6KE51A Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) Diode. That is the part # on the USA model. A European model may use different #. 8645a6dd-c755-4fe7-a00b-699ca51bc6af.jpg

DeWalt charger #DW9107 binks eraticly, even when battery is not installed, DC output is 35 volts, which is too high, the reading across all of the diodes on the circut bd in the converter circut is 5.8...

There could be a number of things wrong inside the charger, and could cause more problems trying to replace components on the board. Your best bet is to look on ebay or some other place to see if you can get a replacement charger.

My Dewalt DW056 doesn't run variable speed. It's either full speed or not at all. Can this be fixed?

It can be fixed, you just need a new switch. I can not find a Dewalt model number DW056 so I'm not sure what switch you need. The DW053 and DW055 use the same switch, part number N034934. A DW057 uses either part number 152274-15 or 152274-23 which is a variable speed switch. Make sure which model you have and which switch you need, Dewalt switches are expensive, most are $50 and up, and it's hard to return electronic parts to most parts distributors.

CHARGER PROBLEMS

The flashing light indicates the charger is charging the battery (or attempting it) and if it never finishes charging you should try to charge a different battery, if the charger charges that one ok then the battery is bad.

My dewalt drill charger started smoking when i put the battery in although it wasn't even pluged in to the wall and now won't work

If this is for the 14 and 18 volt batteries, this is what I found had occured on one model I repaired (I've forgotten the charger model number):

It had a shorted diode (the bad one had obvious burn marks on the pc
board). I used an NTE 5809 diode to replace the original one. BTW you'll need
a Tamperproof Torx T-10 to open the case to access the pc board.
