Keyboard and track pad are not working, completely unresponsive.

Try and external keyboard and mouse. If they work then re-install keyboard and mouse drivers by removing then first and let the OS do it.
If this doesn't work your pc might be infected. Try to clean it or save data and re-install OS, that is if the external keyboard and mouse work. If not then it is a hardware problem.

The mouse of my laptop is not moving

Use an external mouse and RESTORE the PC to an earlier set date. Also reinstall the drivers and use the recovery disk if there is an OS issue.
If this wont solve there can be fault in the motherboard or a damage on the pad. Clean the pad, check the rear side connections, dry if there is moisture or a spill .

HP Pavillion ze4400 can this laptop use an external mouse & keyboard ?

Any external USB mouse can be connected to the system. As well as USB keyboard. Or specifically if you go through HP, the mouse part number is: NR152AA, and keyboard is GM321AA. As far as non-HP products you will need to check on compatibility on each. Hope this helps you in this question.

Mouse

if i were you, i would go into the bios when the machine is booting up, by pressing usually f2 or delete on the first black screen and setting all defaults in the bios, save it, then see if your mouse works. It may be that the bios is corrupt or misconfigured and that is why the integral mouse does not work.
