Depending on where you live, your best bet is one or more of the following: 1) eBay 2) your nearest Tamron distributor/service centre (Tamron bought Bronica in the early '90s and may still cary spare parts). 3) local camera repair centres

Shutter will not cock

Hi there

I have researched your problem. I have located the online version of your camera and attached the link here:

http://www.tamron.com/assets/pdfs/SQ-A.pdf

It seems like the following cause might fit your symptom:

Is it possible that the small lever on the side might be set to multiple exposures. (See number 22 on the online manual that I sent the link for!)

Good Luck! and let us know how this works.

Camera cocks but will not fire. New batteries

Is there film loaded? Bronica cameras feature an interlock that will prevent the camera from fully firin when not loaded, when no back attached, or when the dark slide is in the back. Some models have a small flip-switch that doubles as a double-exposure switch on the side that can be used to dummy fire the camera to test fire it.

If that doesn't work, consult a tech. The electronic's in these cameras go bad qute often these days.

Just starting out with medium format. We bought a second hand Bronica SQ-A from a reputable dealer but the shutter will not **** in 'Normal' 'single exposure setting'. Cocks fine in Multi-exposure setting,...

Sounds like a problem with the single/multi "switch".
Film should not wind on in "multi" setting.
Back to the dealer - if he is reputable, he will get it fixed.

Hi, I have the same problem - my lever plastic become broken in 2 days after I'vet body from KEH. Seems that iron topof the lever can be screwed in counter clockwize direction and after new one lever installed it can be screwed back and fixed with rubber cap.

But question to you - where did you get the replacement?

You can contact me on [email protected] at any time.

Regards,
Kirill.

Film back jammed

Ok, The dark slide has to be in the right way. A small tab sticks out of one end that matches a small slot below the main slot where you put the dark slide. The tab will sometimes miss the release arm in that smaller slot

Film will not advance

Pressing the rewind button wind the film advance lever,if it is free It will set to its place. Release the rewind button, press the shutter release button.Once again try wind the film.( provided your camera is not fitted with motor wind )
Then your winding gears need cleaning

Shutter not Cocking?

Try removing and re-attaching the lens. IIRC, the actual shutter mechanism is part of the lens assembly
