Help with Philips resistors

I too have a problem with my Philips 43PP930217 where I am having trouble with the red convergence lining up. I have pulled the board which shows two burnt out resistors. They have black, orange, gold, gold colors on them which indicates that it is 0.3 ohms +/-5% There are also two additional resistors which test okay, but there is a very slight brownish tint on them that are blue, brown, gold, gold which indicates they are 6.1 ohms +/-5%. I am going to replace both sets of the resistors and the ICs as a precaution. My problem is...where can I purchase the replacement resistors as I am having a difficult time locating some with these ratings. Also, I am unsure if they are 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 watt as well as the type of construction of these resistors. Can anyone assist me with this?

I looked at www.globalelectronics.com and this site did not indicate they have any resistors. I also did not find any technical assistance. Any other solutions would be appreciated.

Getting lines to line up

Hi, if the green isn't straight to begin with you will need to go into the convergence sub menu and align it there code is 062597 status then follow the instructions to adjust the green first, then red , then blue multipoint and save it.
pressing menu to switch arrows to move/adjust status to back up , make sure to scroll down to save multipoint before exiting, power off when done.
If any color will not move or is more than 1 inch out of adjustment you may need to check the resistors to that convergence color .
hope this helps

Convergence problem philips rear projection tv.

All convergence circuits require two voltages which are equal, one being positive the other negative. Check the power supply for these two voltages and then see if you're getting them at the output ICs. I suspect one of them is missing or low. If there are no cooked resistors near the ICs, inspect the fuses that protect those two voltage sources or the regulating devices themselves.

Convergence will not line up after replacing ic & resistors

Did you replace the resistors when you replaced the convgence chips? If one of them was bad you would still have the problem.

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos.

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick email and they will put one together for you. Their kits includes photo instruction guides, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.
