No sound output

I have connected a inspire 1394 to my 933 Mhz ibook. I managed to get it to work once... but never since. Everything seems fine. It shows up in the sound in panel and the meter is responding, but I CANNOT MANAGE TO GET THE SOUND OUT THROUGH THE SPEAKERS - OR INTO ANY OTHER APPLICATION to capture it... OS is 10.4.10

Are you hooking up the headphone jack to the unit and not the ibook? When I hook inspire to my mac, the output comes from the unit, not the computer through the unit's headphone jack or the speaker output. Also make sure the volume is up and no channels are muted.

check the audio output settings of your components. THey may be set for dolby digital which your receiver can process but your TV can not. Try PCM stereo setting or "other".

To help with getting your battery to charge, try resetting the PMU

-PMU RESET-
The Power Manager (PMU) is an integrated circuit (computer chip) that is usually on the logic board of your Mac computer.

It is responsible for power management of the computer. It controls backlighting, hard disk spin down, sleep and wake, some charging aspects, trackpad control, and some input/output as it relates to the computer sleeping.

• If the computer is on, turn it off.
• Now refer to this article from Apple.com Support
Resetting the PMU for Powerbook and iBooks

If this process does not help to allow your battery to charge normally, you more than likely have a battery which may be either dead or eventually will die in its charge capability.

What I would recommend if that is the case, would be to consider purchasing a new battery from Apple or via a third party reseller like online Apple authorized resellers like Amazon.com, MacMall.com or Fry's Electronics for example. You may also Google with keywords "purchase iBook battery " and shop for the best priced iBook battery.

Again, you would only consider the latter, if the former procedure listed above does not help.

I hope this helps.

Ibook wont log onto my network

I ran into this with my home network and my old g3 ibook needed the older speed wifi to connect. I found my old wifi router, hooked an ethernet cable to the newer router (in a regular ethernet port) and connected the other end to the internet port on the old one... they linked and worked fine to provide wifi for the old G3's ..

Ibook g4 screen issue

That screen will most likely be compatible - I work on these for a living. The G3 laptop screens are usually not compatible with the G4 laptops, but all G4 laptop screens are compatible with eachother (provided they are the same size, of course.

I have a pioneer 5.1 channel surround sound system and it powers up and everything seems to go fine but you go to turn it up and no sound comes out of the speakers already checked speaker wire connections...

Does the protection relay click 3 to 5 seconds after initial power on??? If not, your unit is staying in "protect" mode to save your speakers because the output transistors or output IC is shorted and sending 40 to 60 volts at your speakers. Not a good thing, but at least it saves your speakers.
Good Luck!
