REFRIGERATOR MOTOR CONTINUES TO RUN AND WATER IS LEAKING.

Refrigerator was purchased during the year 2005. Problem of not cooling and water leaking from bottom of the refrigerator. Unplugged refrigerator and pulled refrigerator out from wall checking for leaking water line from ice maker, however there was no leaks. Leak appears to be coming from bottom of refigerator. Once plugged back into receptacle the refrigerator seems to start cooling. After about three hours, I noticed that the refrigerator stopped cooling and frozen food began to thaw in freezer side. Also the other side seems to of stopped cooling. The problem of the water leaking also started again.

My Maytag refrigerator is 2 years old. When the compressor goes on its fine for a few minutes, then begins to make a loud vibrating noise. This has been going on since I bought it, I tried re balancing it...

This is gonna be one of those ones where it is tough to diagnose without actually being there so I'll do the best that I can!

First things first.. Did you call for warranty service during the first year to have a tech come and look at it? If so, what did they say? And if not, why?

There is no rebalancing needed to compressor..

So now I want to verify it is the compressor.

I have found that sometimes the fan blade will get a crack in it since it is molded plastic and continue to work but gradually get noisier. Have you pulled the plug on the fan motor to make sure that isn't it?

I pulled up your owners manual and it says the compressor is covered for up to 5 years from the date of purchase. You would pay for labor So if you disconnect the fan motor and it is still loud then call for service.. If it quits down immediately then replace the motor and blade.

My motor is running, but the temperature is not cooling and everything is starting to melt.

The motor is running normally?so that mean there is no gas in the system, probably a leak of gas in the system, have you not smell the leak of gas?How old is the refrigerator?

We have kenmore side by side refrigerator model 106.53382300. problem is that a) water is leaking in the back where the copper line attahces to the refrigerator back. b) the refrigerator does...

hello. OK... first the leak in the back. Pull out the unit and wipe everything down with a towel to determine the location of the leak. If it is in the fitting just tighten it up using two small adjustable wrenches. If the copper line itself is leaking you can replace it or cut it at the leak and use a 1/4 compression connector to put it back together.

Now the other issue - not cooling at all:

  • Is the thermostat knob turned to the proper setting? If not, reset it.

  • Next, see if the compressor motor is running

The compressor is a football-sized case with no apparent moving parts. It's on the outside of the refrigerator at the back near the bottom. If it is humming or making a continuous noise and your refrigerator is still not cooling, there may be a more serious problem with one or more of several different components, we recommend contacting a qualified appliance repair technician for further help.

If the compressor is not running but you do have power to the refrigerator, there may be a problem with one or more of these:

    • The compressor

    • The Thermostat

    • The overload, relay, or capacitor

    • The defrost timer

    • The condenser fan motor

1 year old Kenmore Elite Trio Refridgerator not cooling

There are a lot of things that could be the source of the problem... is there no cooling at all going on in the freezer? Is the back wall of the freezer cold? It could be anything from a fan, to the compressor, to the control board... you need a technician.

I would get on the phone with Sears, and explain the continuing problems you have been having, and they may agree to cover service.

Refigerator leaked water slightly then stoped cooling

Yes try to turn with a screw driver if possible. If it start working replace timer. If not it can be low on freon you would see frosting but no cooling.
