Disk error on mp3/4 player

My pm3/4 player is an 8GB one but does not have a brand name onit n does not work, i accidently pressed something wrong n now it turns on but does not initialise,i also get the menu , but whn i press any thing all i get is disk error n nothing works except the fm radio. ive lost all my files n do not have any disk or manual. i can also acces the setup menu n the firware version is as follows:LSD _9101_20 2006-10-21 9.0.50 2005-01-09 I hope u can let me know how to get it working and hopefully retreive lost files too. thanks in advance.

sam here, but my sister and I have the exact same mp3/4 player, and hrs can play .mp3 format somgs and when I try to play them all i gt is a sign saying "format error" and I can't do anything about it, what's worse is that i used to be able to play them. HHHHHEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPP!!!

This mp3 player is from the company mic and it does everything else but play the music and when you try to go to it, it says DISC ERROR and i have tryed everything and i thought this might work and im not sure until you reply and if you dont then i will buy a ipod from ANOTHER company!

I had that problem, try reformatting it, but save your songs first, cause it wil delte all yor songs/pics/vidos/..., but wont hurt player

Cd player error

so is this a stock RAD/cd?
stock JBL 6 disk player in dash>? or? what? name and model #

and now comes the big question.
TELLS where you got the disk, or name it, or tell how it was made if home made. we dont know that.

is said CD a CDDA? or not. (always try CDDA first)
is CD a real music disc. from a real store, CDDA, is that.
or CDR, or DVDr, or CDRW, or other record-able media
is music MP3? files.
see, the old units dont play modern media.

try 2 real discs, not scratched.
do they play?
one other way, is to name the radio, brand, like JBL then get the
p/n off it. (hard) then look up the product data sheet on it,
bingo, what it can and can not do is there.

but this does it all, mostly
does what yours will not do.

My mp3 player just quit on me. format error pops up when i press play

When you go to play a file and you receive a disk error, the best solution is to format the player's hard drive. Once the MP3 player's hard drive is formatted, all of the files and the disk error will be removed in the process.

Why does my mp3 player say disk the sharper image error

unfortunately being that it is a sharper image there is no fix for disk errors. It means the flash memory has become unusable. The only thing you can try to do is.
format the disk and see if it works from there.
These arent really electronics that are able to be fixed on the consumer level nor is it cost effective on this unit. How long have you owned the unit? if it is still under warranty send it back for replacement. If not i would buy a new mp3 player and go with a more name brand company such as Phillips or someone that provides firmware and software that allows disk errors to be fixed on a consumer level.

It may mean that the disk is no longer usable due to scratches or other over-use reasons. If a new disk, it may mean you're using the wrong brand. This machine works on recommended brands, and the brand of DVD+RW that has proven to be workable on this device, and that I use with no problems, is VERBATIM. Hope this helps you solve what's wrong.

How do i put music on my mp3,4 free ,

depending onm its name brand or your computer you might be able to use a media service like windows media player to sync the songs on to the device. If you want to download songs for free i would say limewire or frostwire. although most people wont use it because of th risk of viruses i have used it for years with almost no problems at all. the problems i did have with limewire was it takes up alot of space on my computer. frostwire isnt as bad for taking up space but it doesnt have as many songs as limewire.

Zone is the region of your dvd player and what dvds its capable of playing. If you didnt know what you have done then its hard to know what could be wrong, first things first try this .. this is a factory reset that if you did change something important in the home menu it will fix it for you and start the system from the beginning when you first took it out of the box.

2 Press and hold the front panel
(stop)
button for about 8 seconds until the
display shows ‘Mem.Clr.?’.
